Mtn Dew Purple Thunder

Mountain Dew Purple Thunder is raspberry plumb soda. I don’t know who asked for that but they shouldn’t have. It's not something worth the calories of a soda and normal Mountain Dew tastes much better. 

I wouldn't drink this stuff again. It just wasn't very good.

Jack in the Box Bacon Ultimate Cheeseburger

I can’t tell you how many Jack in the Box Bacon Ultimate Cheeseburgers I had before I found myself in the hospital with a thumb that looked like a potato. Post op I stopped eating these things but one came up free on the Jack in the Box app.

 

In any case, this microwave monstrosity is a good amount of bad burger for those of you who don’t think much of the stuff you put in your face. They can make me sick from all the salt but most of the time I eat one and just want more, again likely because of all that salt.

 

Eat in moderation. This is second run fast food so you will be doing yourself a favor by keeping clear.

 

Russell Stover Candies Creams Milk & Dark Chocolates Assorted Candies Gift Box (9.4 oz)

 Russell Stover is the kind of candies you get when you're at the store and you need something fancy but not too fancy. They make the holiday candy that folks get and forget and these boxes that look like nice candy but are nothing of the sort. 

Where as I wouldn't call them bad, I would say that they remind me of why my mother was always disappointed with my old man when he got soft center chocolates.  

These are fruity thing that taste okay, but are not that fancy. I'd rather have something better but I shouldn't have them at all. A good old Snickers will knock these out of the box. 

Alfaro's Bakery Sausage Rolls

“Hey, boss, someone spilled flour on these hot dog buns. What should I do?”

 

“No problem, Lenny, just mark them sausage rolls and send them out. We can charge more for um that way.”

 

That’s what I think of these Alfaro's Bakery Sausage Rolls. In honesty I didn’t have them with sausage but I would note that they are lighter than most hot dog buns but wouldn’t hold up well to a real sausage.

 

These are fine, but you need to know that you’re going to use them before you buy them. They aren’t that versatile.

 

Albertsons Sugar Jumbo Cookies

 Being a big fat dude I often go to the discount baking rack at Albertson’s and these Jumbo Sugar Cookies are on sale. I think they’re just dandy. I don’t know why I would call them dandy but they are too soft for coffee dipping and they do look a bit fabulous.

These aren’t my favorite cookies to get at Albertson’s but they do brighten my day.

Cinnamon Bun Oreo Cookies

Oreos is not a word according to the company that makes them. Oreo Cookie is the singular and Oreo Cookies is the plural. I don’t think much of these Cinnamon Bun Oreo Cookies not matter what you call them but I never did think the cinnamon bun was all that cinnamon for the bun.

 

These are okay. I think Oreo cookies where better when I was a kid. Now I find them less flavorful. Truth be told, a friend got me these and wanted my opinion and so here we are. I could never keep up with all the new flavors.

 

Cheetos

 At some point I ran in to Cheetos being given out. I hadn’t reviewed Cheetos on their own but had reviewed Cheetos Mac & Cheese which felt funny to me so here we are with the Cheetos.

These are Cheesy. They are the kind of Cheesy that gets all over your fingers and makes it hard to work afterwards.

Cheetos are a mainstay of the snaking experience, and everyone should try them once or twice. Just be sure to wash your hands afterwards.

Libby's Potted Meat

 I wanted to try potted meat ever since seeing Sling Blade as it featured in the film and I had never heard of it. Once I tried it it became something for me to keep about for when I need to review crackers. Libby's Potted Meat lives up to the idea by overwhelming the flavor of most crackers and leaving them to add mouth feel.

It packs a lot of strong flavor in that little can, and how you serve it will make a difference. If you want to bring out the flavors of other food use sparingly. If you want to cover the fact that your crackers aren't that fresh use a lot. 

Be advised that your cats may want to try this so save some for them. 

Inked Organics Great White Bread

So far as I can tell Inked Organics Great White Bread is white bread. It is a little on the spongy side which is a good thing. It tastes nothing like the shark on the bag. I'm not sure I would want to eat shark bread but, let's be honest here, that bag is cool. 

All around this is good bread but you don't buy it because of it's flavor. You buy Inked Organics bread because of what it represents which is clean living. 

White bread isn't all that good for you, but you're not going to find bread better than this.
 

Seagram's Escapes Jamaican Me Happy

Seagram's Escapes Jamaican Me Happy is a lemon strawberry watermelon drink that suffers from too much flavor, but not enough of any one. The strawberry is the major flavor with a watermelon after taste. 

Big drinkers will not like this because there is very little alcohol. It's a find drink but not great and it will not get you drunk. Then with the summers becoming hotter and hotter this is a good way to cool down.
 

Honey Stinger Waffle

Honey Stinger Waffles are some kind of food ration that is meant to be taken out camping or hiking. This is the kind of thing you can keep in your work bag in case you get hungry or your blood sugar drops. 

I have to admit these aren't bad, and if the store had other flavors I would try them. These are the Honey but they have chocolate.  They aren't overly sweet so I don't eat the whole box but are good enough to make me want them when I am naturally hungry. 

Good product. 

Shasta Tiki Punch

 I walked into a Ralph's a few months back and someone said that Big K soda reminded them of Shasta. They were under the impression that Shasta had gone out of business and I let them know that it was a very much thriving brand of discount soda. 

Shasta is hit or miss, coming in a variety of flavors, often that is hard to find in other soda.  Where Shasta fails is in their flavor ripoffs. Their cola sucks. The Root Bear I will get to in a review, but their Tiki Punch isn't that bad.  

It really doesn't taste like a Tiki. To be honest I'm not sure what a Tiki should taste like. Wood I guess. Anyway, it tasted good enough to be mistaken for the real thing and will brighten up your summer.

Drink on!

Monterey Mushrooms

Monterey Mushrooms are just right for your summer cooking needs. Like any other mushroom really. I mean, I'm trying to eat healthy but healthy food is all the same.

Stokes Ranch Feeder

I have a spot of over farmed land on my property that could use some bird crap to make it farmable again. So I went out and got these Stokes Ranch Feeders to draw in the birds and give my cats something to kill. 

Well, didn't have the first one out there for as long as it took me to get the second before a bird was munching away. I almost want to sit in my back yard and take pictures of them little buggers as they eat the bird seed. 

Dang thing works like a charm. Well, better than a charm because charms don't work. 

Crush Strawberry

Crush Strawberry Soda just sound like some fun stuff. I mean say it: Strawberry Crush! Don't you just feel the party coming on. I mean, no, it doesn't really taste much like strawberry, not that they taste much now days, but oh does this hit the spot.

Dos Rios Cooked Beef with Taco Sauce Traditional

You can't see much of the cooked beef in these Tacos because I needed to ad vegetables. Vegetables make a meal worth eating. In any case, this is fine stuff. It flavored my vegetables and got me to eat at least four servings of them. 

If you want to know, yes I am still fat, yes I am trying to get better, no it is not working. 

RightRice Thai Curry

It's hard to believe that there is ever a shortage of the white stuff Americans eat at fake Asian restaurants. It is a little harder to wrap my brain around the idea that the best of that white stuff is grown in good old California. 

So here we have RightRice Thai Curry a protein and fiber heavy rice that is made to be better for you than the white stuff. 

Truth is that it cooks faster and comes pre-seasoned so if your making dinner and don't want to do a lot of thinking this is a good idea. It's not as durable as real rice and will get soft and lose it's shape with long cooking times. 

If you're a body builder sick of steamed brown rice or a homemaker looking to add a quick meal option this stuff make sense. I like the versatility of real rice over this stuff, but it does what it should and tastes okay doing it. 

The curry flavor could be stronger.  Then again, you don't want your rice to overpower your meal. I say, try this and see if you like it. It may just make your life easier.

Banquet Popcorn Chicken

Few things in my life have been as much of an outright disappointment as Banquet Popcorn Chicken. I cooked this stuff three times as long as the pack says and it still will not crisp up. Stale tasting and soft these little buggers are something to put your dip on and little more. 

I mean, I'm a big fat guy, to us popcorn chicken is like little balls of happiness. These are just sad.

Peeps Strawberry Creme Marshmallow Hearts

Peeps Strawberry Creme Marshmallow Hearts are a welcome change to the Peep army on it's march to take over the holiday world. I can't wait to see what happens when they get fur tree peeps. 

In any case, these Strawberry Creme peeps taste really good and would go well with some strawberry shortcake. Unlike when they just chang the shape they changed the shape and flavor of these and it works. It works really well. 

Costco Eco Straw

Costco Eco Straw is the new thing that is going to stop killing see life. I have to point out that it changes the flavor of whatever you're drinking so it's not much of an improvement. I'm going to drink my soda out of the cup without using these straws.  

I'm for see life but, dude, get it right.
