Marshmallow Peeps Party Cake Chicks

Marshmallow Peeps Party Cake Chicks are a rather meh offering for your Easter enjoyment. This may have something to do with the fact that Peeps start off kind of meh and don't get much better.

If you look at it like Peeps are a decorative something only meant to be looked at and eaten by fat dumb children then this is clearly and improvement. Giving these to someone would still be an insult but they are not terrible. 

Tony's Chocolonely Egg-stra Special Chocolate Eggs

 Tony's Chocolonely is the cruelty free chocolate, or at least they do their best to be, that you have when you feel like having chocolate without the guilt of knowing someone is underpaid to make your chocolate. These Egg-stra Special Chocolate Eggs are what they sell for Easter. 

You get a chocolate sampler with these with the orange salted caramel being the most common and best tasting. The light green is a dark chocolate salted and the dark green is nutty. 

The wide range of chocolate in these makes for something that everyone can enjoy but I will say that if you have your kind of chocolate then you're better off with the bars. 

This is a great introduction to Tony's Chocolonely but why does it have to have a name that makes people who eat it sound sad. Eat with friends and family and don't be lonely.

Palmer Double Crisp Solid Easter Bunny

To say that these Palmer Double Crisp Solid Easter Bunnies are bad would be a little unfair. Not as unfair as saying they are good, mind you, but unfair none the less. To be blunt they are low in flavor and high in bad for you. 

Eating these is kind of like eating mud with some sugar in it and only a dumb kid would think this is good chocolate. As a child I would have shrugged at this then ate it anyway because I was fat and greedy. 

As an adult I can't wait to give the second one away so I don't eat it because I'm fat and greedy.
 

Russell Stover Coconut Cream in Dark Chocolate

If spitting out some white stuff is what you want for Easter then Russell Stover Coconut Cream in Dark Chocolate are your bag. I have to admit they taste fine but the coconut is not all that great and if you eat enough of these you wind up with coconut that you don't want to eat in your mouth. 

I like the fact that these are wrapped so that you can eat them over time without worrying about them getting stale. Stile, they are a take it or leave it kind of thing.
 

Marie Callender's Aged Cheddar Cheesy Chicken & Rice Bowl

 Marie Callender's really thinks people will believe that this is an Aged Cheddar Cheesy Chicken & Rice Bowl. Look at how little broccoli there is in there. There is even less chicken. Chicken shouldn't be in the name of this, because there is no chicken. There was a chicken near this when it was made, maybe, but the chicken is nonexistent. 

Seeing that this was an environmentally conscious meal I had so much enthusiasm for this, but it was so disappointing.  I would have been fine had I dumped it on top of chicken and broccoli. There just wasn't enough of the stuff to make this work.

McDonald's Sausage, Egg & Cheese Bagel

 This McDonald's Sausage, Egg & Cheese Bagel came covered in what I think is some mild mustered. The whole thing had little in the way of flavor but was big for a golden arches morning meal. 

This thing is just unimpressive. I mean, really, after I wiped off all that goop it was just okay. The bagel was a little old and the sausage was without flavor.

Birthday Blast - Chewy Mini Dipps

 Birthday Blast - Chewy Mini Dipps make me ask what the heck is this birthday flavor people keep talking about. This doesn't remind me of birthday cake, and the cake you get on your birthday should be whatever cake you like the most.

I used to get a chocolate space cake when my mother was alive. Mom knew I loved chocolate and space.

These things taste fine, should be thought of as candy, and will help if you're constipated but not that much. Eat accordingly.

Bilinski Chicken Sausage Spinach & Garlic

 Bilinski Chicken Sausage Spinach & Garlic is one of those foods that will give you the garlic burps. They were very tasty burps indeed. 

As sausage goes, this is very good. I will admit that I would rather it come in an even number. who eats an odd number of sausage? You get five and so you're left with a few sitting around. 

The sausage had a lot of flavor and kept well being fully cooked. It was in my freezer for a good time as well so you can buy this and keep it around. 

I thought this was better than the average sausage and would love to see more of this brand.

Jack in the Box Tacos

 I’ve reviewed Monster Tacos from Jack in the Box and Angry Monster Tacos which didn’t even seam mad to me, but I neglected the normal tacos which I have eaten many a time. I remember the first time I ate one which was before the pandemic when on duty in the cold.

A supervisor had given me a Jack in the Box Taco, and it wasn’t too bad. It was more like a taco than what you get from Taco Bell which doesn’t qualify as a taco to Mexicans. I like the Taco Bell things better than these greasy tacos, but the greasy part is what makes them more authentic.

Are they good, no, they’re okay. I mean, you only eat these when you’re hungry but when you’re hungry they aren’t half bad.

Campbell's Tomato & Stars with Mini Pretzel Crisps Soup

With too little pretzels and not enough stars Campbell's Tomato & Stars with Mini Pretzel Crisps Soup is only good if it's good and hot. To be honest, no one is expecting to get a meal out of a container this small so dropping one in your lunch bag will not disappoint. 

In addition, this is ready fast so if your hungry and waiting for your other frozen food to cook this is a top notch idea. I also have to give it points for having tomatoes. If you don't get many of those you really should have one of these. 

Like so many things I review, I wouldn't keep away from this but wouldn't go looking for it either. It's fine. 
 

Marie Callender's Shrimp Mac and Cheese Bowl

There isn’t all that much to say about Marie Callender's Shrimp Mac and Cheese Bowl. It could have used more shrimp, it could have used vegetables of some kind. It had the creamy sauce that one would put over pasta that was far thinner than the cheese one normally has on Mac and Cheese.

The shrimp themselves were okay but I think I only got five of them and they were small. I’ve seen worse in the way of shrimp. The whole thing didn’t smell fishy, and where as it was over before I knew it the meal wasn’t bad.

My biggest gripe with this is the size, because it felt rather small, but then I guess it wasn’t that expensive. This meal would have been better finished with more protein and fiber. It needs vegetables.

I would get this again, but I would, in fact be, able to eat two or three of them.

McDonald's Steak, Egg & Cheese Bagel Breakfast Sandwich

McDonald's has always been the king of the fast food breakfast, but many of us fat men wished they were bigger.  The new Bagel Breakfast Sandwich is bigger, I would still rather have more of their normal fair, but this is bigger. 

Now the Steak, Egg & Cheese Bagel Breakfast Sandwich is missing an Oxford comma and steak. That stuff may look like stake but it isn't steak and honestly tasted like it mite be fake meat. Maybe it's impossible steak. 

There are also some onion like slug things that I didn't care for, but most of them slithered out before I ate the thing. 

This is something I would eat, but not if I had sausage as an alternative. The meat was just too low quality. 

Minees Sandwich Cookies Banana Cream

Minees Sandwich Cookies Banana Cream are funny in that you'd think they would call them Minees Sandwich Cookies chocolate Banana Cream but they don't. 

The banana flavor is Gros Michel as apposed to the more modern Cavendish meaning that the flavor is strong and candy like. There isn't as much of the chocolate, but then there could easily be no coca in this at all. 

Fin little cookies. Good enough for coffee.
 

KFC Chizza

 The new Chizza from Kentucky Fried Chicken is a disappointment. The chicken gets soggy the cheese isn't melted and the sauce is just bad. I wish I could have asked for this without sauce and cooked longer to get that cheese to melt. 

Go to KFC for chicken and Costco for pizza and leave this crap alone. 

Green Giant Steamers Lightly Sauced Antioxidant Blend

Green Giant Steamers Lightly Sauced Antioxidant Blend looks so good on the box but comes out sad and mushy. The broccoli is the fail bits that would otherwise get tossed and those carrots have no flavor. Unless you really like bell peppers then this is not for you. 

If you do like bell peppers, drop this in the pan and brown it up before you add your eggs and make a nice omelet. It's the only way to get this down. 

 

Marie Callender's Fried Chicken Mac And Cheese Bowl

 I don't know who at Marie Callender's thought this Fried Chicken Mac And Cheese Bowl was a good idea, but they should get canned. It's bad chicken and there isn't much of it. I guess the noodles are okay, but they are on the bland side. 

If it were not for the fact that I was eating this for a review I would be questioning my life choices with this meal.  Dumping some vegetables on top would have made it better, but not by much. 

It does get points for being eco-friendly food featuring a paper tray. It'll still go to the trash heap, but I guess it will brake down faster and not release harmful chemicals if burned. 

Great idea, poor execution. 

Albertsons Chocolate Extreme Jumbo Cookies

When you call something Extreme it should be extreme, and I wouldn’t call these cookies extreme. Really, Albertsons, this is what extreme looks like to you?

This is not to say that I have any complaints about these Albertsons Chocolate Extreme Jumbo Cookies. They are on the big side and are chocolate with chocolate chunks in them. The double chocolate nature of these cookies is something to look at, but I wouldn’t have said they were extreme.

Past the name, I would say these are just fine cookies. I like the Chocolate Chunk better because in them the chocolate stands out more, but these are fine too.

Boston Market Country Fried Beef Steak

 As you can tell Boston Market Country Fried Beef Steak looks nothing like the box. It mostly looks like a lump of mashed potatoes. the white grave just blends in. 

These things are a bad idea as the country fried batter just turns into mush when frozen. The execution is not much better with beef being a thing cut of beef skirt that is so old and stringy you would think it came from a milk cow. 

I mean, this is edible and I would be fine with having a few more in my freezer but I wouldn't, buy them at full price. 

Seapoint Farms Organic Edamame Spaghetti

When you look at the box of this Seapoint Farms Organic Edamame Spaghetti you get the impression it will taste like spaghetti. That’s a big point for these odd pastas is that if they don’t taste as good as the real thing what’s the point?

Edamame Spaghetti tastes and feels very different from normal spaghetti and must be cooked in a different way. You drop it in hot water then turn the heat off to make this stuff, which is good because it is less fuel, but the result is not at all like spaghetti.

I ended up recooking most of this stuff by dumping it in a frying pan with other things. Mostly I used some frozen beef bowl like things which had all the flavor I needed to cover up the taste of this spaghetti like stuff.

Your enjoyment of this product will depend on how well you like what you put on it, but I would not recommend traditional red Italian sauces. I think it lends itself better to Asian inspired cuisine. It should be fine with a healthy dose of pesto, I think, but mostly it’s oyster sauce for this stuff.

McDonald’s Tangy Barbeque Sauce

 I almost always get the same sauce at the golden arches, and this isn’t it. One of the reasons I started this blog was because I always get the same thing, and I needed to change that. So, here I’m trying the Tangy BBQ Sauce at McDonald’s. I’ve had it before, didn’t think much of it, and here it is again.

This is a sweeter BBQ as opposed to the more savory variety. It’s okay. I mean, I wouldn’t switch over, and this doesn’t taste like tang at all. I would have expected tang to taste like orange or maybe mango, but here it is tasting mostly of brown sugar.

Marie Callender's Tender Ginger Beef & Broccoli Bowl

 I know I complain about this a good deal but there was almost no broccoli in my Marie Callender's Tender Ginger Beef & Broccoli Bowl. I like broccoli and beef with broccoli is what I get when I buy 'Chinese' food. 

This beef and broccoli could have used more beef and more broccoli but the whole point of the food is to get that broccoli down. I feel like I should have made my own broccoli and dumped this on top. 

It tasted okay, just didn't have the right stuff. 

Albertsons Jumbo Rainbow Chip Cookies

 Every time I go to Albertsons I check the discount rack for baked goods and these two packs of cookies show up. I never read the pack before but these are Jumbo Rainbow Chip Cookies. Not too rainbow really but I guess that's not the point. 

At the end of the day, I'm going to dip these in my coffee so it's okay if they're a bit old but I've never found them to be bad. Really, I had to stop myself from eating them before I got to review them.  

Good stuff, will buy again.

Shirakiku Ramune Japanese Soda Melon

 Shirakiku Ramune Japanese Soda Melon arrived at my local Grocery Outlet and I was keen to try it as I like melon flavored things. You don't see too many of those in American food, it's all watermelon here, and so I saw this and wanted some. 

This has a subdued flavor that fits with the marble inside that keeps you from drinking too fast. Opening these also takes some doing but I got it done. 

I wouldn't say this would become a common drink in my kitchen because it's hard to find and the flavor isn't all that strong. Still, I love the color and it tastes good enough.

McDonald’s WcDonald’s Sauce

 Sweet and hot WcDonald’s Sauce is something I would never eat. It also has that smell that can’t be put in the refrigerator. This is that stinky food you should never eat at work. People have to work with you, dude, have some respect.

Anyway, I hat two nuggets with this and then tossed it into the trash outside of the office, so I didn’t have to smell it all night. Stuff was okay but not worth the stink.

Snack Pack Fanta Grape Flavored Juicy Gels

 I have never been a fan of Fanta. If you know the history of Fanta it is easy to see why. After all, they made this stuff in Germany during World War II. Now, I don't know what the grape Fanta tastes like.

I can tell you that this jello hardly tastes of grape and isn't that great. It should have tasted like some kind of soda, but it didn't really taste like much.  

This is just a thing that is, but not a good thing. 

Jack in the Box Jack Wrap w/ Crispy Chicken

 The whole idea of a wrap is less bread, I think. I don’t know because I always made wraps with lettuce and always got told off for them being too high in carbs.

 

The Jack Wrap W/ Crispy Chicken was mostly a single piece of crispy chicken wrapped in a tortilla that was slightly stale and drowned in goop. The goop didn’t taste bad, but it was oozing out of the tortilla.

 

I can’t say these are bad, but I can say that I would rather just have the chicken. That way I can dip it and get what ever amount of sauce I want on there.

Jack in the Box Tiny Tacos

 Jack in the Box Tiny Tacos are not something you want to Door Dash because they lose their crunch quickly. Normally when I buy these, which is too often, they come hot. I have to wait for them to cool down. 

They're unoffensive which is more than I can say for a lot of Jack food so I like them. I have never had the loaded ones but maybe I should do that for all of you. 

Hilco Kool-Aid Gum Tropical Punch

 Hilco Kool-Aid Gum Tropical Punch is one of those funny products that is flavored like something that is flavored like something else. I don't remember what Kool-Aid Tropical Punch tastes like, because if I tried it it was twenty years ago. 

I can say that this gum does not taste like tropical punch. It does start with a strong flavor but then degrades quickly into the flavor of gum I got with my Ninja Turtle trading cards back in the day. That drops off a few minutes later and then your left with a rubber like wad in your mouth. 

I don't chew gum like I used to and now I know I don't want to chew this. Fail, fail, fail, fail, faaaaail.

McDonald’s McChicken

In pursuit of trying as many things as possible I found the McDonalds McChicken. It sounds like something that would appear in a bad sci fi movie about a world that has become too processed. Well, It’s okay. I ordered mine without mayo because I don’t like white goop on my food. That left this with nothing but bun, chicken, and lettuce.

I found it unoffensive and with enough flavor to be worth eating. Honestly I would order it again.

Zevia Fruit Punch

 The year is dragging on and your still working on that summer body but you can't put down the fruit punch. That's when you see Zevia Fruit Punch. It tastes great and you go back to finding another reason to justify why you're not getting that summer body. 

Anyway, I can say that this is great when fresh but watch that expectoration date because the fruit punch flavor is the first thing to go. Once it's gone you have something just a hair less good tasting than a good flavored seltzer. 

Not only would I buy more of this, but I did.

Good Health Non-GMO Veggie Straws Zesty Ranch

Good Health Non-GMO Veggie Straws Zesty Ranch have some really overpowering ranch flavor. They really hammer that ranch into you so that your mouth can feel it.

If you like ranch that is a good thing and if you don't like ranch why are you buying these? To review for your blog. Well, that makes a lot of sense then. 

Anyway, I'm not a big fan of ranch so I wouldn't get these again, but that is because I'm fat and disgusting. They are rather good.
 

Zoe's Meats Organic Jalapeno Tequila Chicken Sausage

 Zoe's Meats Organic Jalapeno Tequila Chicken Sausage definitely tastes like Jalapeno. Tequila not so much but as you normally eat sausage in the morning you really don't want to smell like that all day.

What you get in the box is four sausages so you're making these for one or maybe two unless they have bigger boxes. They are also precooked so they keep long and you don't need to worry too much about under cooking them. They also have a lot of juices so they will influence other food. 

I give these a, well, they're okay. I wouldn't get them again but I'm not the biggest fan of Jalapeno. Also, they were not hot in flavor and tended to shrivel up once they cooled down.

Wye River Cream of Crab Soup

 Wye River Cream of Crab Soup sat on my shelf four almost four years before I did this with it. I fried some canned crab, added two colors of cauliflower, and topped it with spinach. It's best to add these things on top of the soup.

This was creamy and had a hint of the sea. It got my nose running and left me with an odd feeling of peace.

I think that's why we eat soup when we're sick. 

Anyway, this was surprisingly good. It's a bit much for one person, but I must say it is an interesting flavor. It was easy to make and impressive.

McDonald’s Shamrock McFlurry

I ordered a Shamrock McFlurry at McDonald’s, and this is what I got. What the heck is this? It isn’t even mixed. I guess they ran out of those things they mix them with, so I got this instead of the real thing.

It was better than the Shamrock Shake which was thin and without flavor. This had much more mint to it, but why is mint Shamrock I still can’t say. I’ve never eaten a Shamrock so I guess mint could be the right flavor. Maybe I should eat a Shamrock just to find out but then how do I know a dog didn’t piss on the one I try?

Anyway, this would have been better mixed. The green coloring wouldn’t have been so dark and gross looking. It still would have not been worth the calories, and I would skip this, but you do you man. Just remember that dairy and beer don’t mix well and you may end up with some vary curdled green stuff all over your car. 

 

 

Diet Pepsi

This is Diet Pepsi with aspartame. The word just sounds so wrong. Aspartame sounds like medication for our tail ends or maybe some kind of rump bleach. It just sounds so wrong and normally I don’t drink anything with this as an ingredient.

 

In addition to it not being all that great it can cause shortness of breath and makes you want more sweet things. You run around wanting sugar.

 

They had this at a party I went to and so I figured now is the time to review this stuff so that I don’t have to buy it and don’t feel bad about dumping it out.

 

At first Diet Pepsi tastes just like normal Pepsi only a little off. The more you drink it the more off it will taste. It never gets too bad but is still just a little off from the real thing. Were it not for the other problems with this beverage I could live with the taste.

 

Still not my thing. Give me the runs. 

McDonald’s Shamrock Shake

I ordered a McDonald’s Shamrock Shake and this was what they gave me. I'm not sure if it's the right thing but, well, I mean, it was okay. I don't know how this flavor is shamrock, but the cookie bits got stuck in the straw and made it hard to drink.

These are also a lot thinner than I remember so they may have less polymer in them than the used to. I would still never get this again if I didn't have a blog to write for. Thing gave me indigestion. 
 

Rice-A-Roni Rustic Recipes Long Grain & Wild Rice

 Rice-A-Roni Rustic Recipes Long Grain & Wild Rice was on sale at such a great price I could have got it to feed the birds. The only real problem with this is that the wild rice is in the spice packet and I don't know how the birds would react to "rustic" spice. 

Rustic, by the way, means simple or 'of the rural nature' so this is a little misleading as that would just mean un-spiced or lightly spiced. 

Anyway, this stuff is just fine. I like it enough. I can't say that it jumped out at me but I can't say that I'm unhappy to have about a dozen boxes. Yeah, I should still give them to the homeless.
