Chocolate Strawberry Oreo

I heard that the Chocolate Strawberry Oreo was the best Oreo of all time, and so I had to try them. Or I just found them at the discount market and figured why not.

As Oreo goes these are very good. They had just enough fruitiness to make it work with the chocolate. If you like Oreo try these or you'r missing out.

Jack In the Box Ultimate Bacon Cheese Burger

Jack In the Box Ultimate Bacon Cheese Burger is what you get when you think bacon makes everything better. In truth it only brings a heart attack closer. These things are bad for you and the bacon doesn't make up for the soft not meat they makes these out of.

Art's Burgers Large Egg and Cheese Burrito

Art's Burger Large Egg and Cheese Burrito are a plain way to start your day. They could really use more cheese. If you're going to get one remember that you can spice it up with salsa, potatoes, or three kinds of meat. Other than that, these are perfect for people with sensitive guts.

Art's Burgers Real Ice cream Shake Boysenberry

I stopped off at Art's Burgers one morning and got breakfast for my brother and I, and, in doing so, picked up two of these Boysenberry shakes so that both of us could try them.

This could very well be the best shake I've had in my life. The complex flavor was that of something made with real ingredients and it had almost woody after tones that made me saver each sip.

My brother said he was very impressed.

If you're a shake man you need to stop by Art's Burgers and try these things because they are just out of this world.

Art's Burgers Monster Fries

Art's Burgers 'Monster Fries' are a thing I would never eat. I don't eat onions, but I got these for my brother and he was unimpressed. If this is your thing then this is your thing. I can say it's just not for me.

Corn Chex

If you're hoping that Corn Chex is a healthy alternative to pre-sweetened breakfast cereal get ready for a disappointment. Chex has added sugar like most unhealthy day starters. Sugar is the third most plentiful ingredient in this product.

I have to admit that I love this cereal. It has a corn crunch that really works for me, but I was surprised to learn that it was sweetened. This is great if you eat it the way I did as part of a balanced breakfast but remember that just adding milk will not make it healthy.

Cheemo Pierogies Potato & Cheddar Cheese

Cheemo Pierogies Potato & Cheddar Cheese were at the discount market and my brother jumped right on them. Now I can say I've had better, but these are okay.

I had at lest one pop open when boiling and the batter doesn't keep well in the pot. If you like to fry up your Pierogies after boiling like I've been told is the way to do it they will need to be fried lightly. I would say that these are worth a try, but don't expect something grate.

Jack in the Box Ultimate Cheeseburger

I'd like to know what is so ultimate about this Jack in the Box Ultimate Cheeseburger. I mean sure, it's got two kinds of cheese, but those 'beef' patties have an odd softness to them that makes me remember my days in youth eating things out of the microwave.

I'm going to grant that reading the nutrition facts about this burger make me ask how I survived eating one, but that just doesn't make it 'Ultimate'.

Three grams of Trans fat! Death on a bun. It tasted okay.

Rockie's Frozen Yogurt Reese's

Don't look at me like that! I know this is the wrong weather for Frozen Yogurt but my brother just had to have some so we went down to Rockie's Frozen Yogurt in Whittier California and met the nice woman who I think owned the place.

This is the Reese's flavor and my brother and I both had some. He couldn't stop eating it even after his brain freeze set in. As for me, I thought this was great, but on a cold day you really want to keep the servings small.

Brain freeze is your body saying slow the heck down.

Duke's Chili Cheese Fries

Duke's Chili Cheese Fries look little like their image on the menu and that's kind of a good thing given what that image looks like. Still, I didn't care for these. They were passable and nothing more.
If you have a look at the menu you can see that the chili cheese fries look much larger and more chili and are made of plastic. I'm not sure which I would want more, because neater look all that great.

Duke's Double Cheeseburger

Duke's is one of the nicer burger places on Valley Blvd in La Puente California, and this cheese burger is run of the mill. I can't say that it was great and I can't say that it was disappointing. If you happen by Duke's this is a fine place to eat.

Spider Energy Drink Pucker Punch

Spider Energy Drink 'Pucker Punch' is an energy drink I ran across at a discount store. It has a mostly cherry flavor and will work about as well as any other energy drink.

That brings me to the question as to why do they call it spider? I mean, do they make it with spiders? Do spiders work in the factory?

Meh, who cares. this is kind of a knock off of a monster, and it works so go ahead and by the off brand to save a few bucks.

Alpha Wolf Goji-Pomegranate-Mango

Alpha Wolf Goji-Pomegranate-Mango is a diet energy drink sweetened with Sucralose. I've never been a fan of diet drinks because the stuff, well, makes me need more toilet tissue.

Anyway, this stuff is an odd flavor with an aftertaste. I can't say that I like this flavor of Alpha Wolf and I didn't feel any particularly strong changes in my mental focus.

Riven the choice of this or coffee I'll take coffee.

Jimmy Dean All Natural Regular Pork Sausage

Jimmy Dean All Natural Regular Pork Sausage is ground seasoned pork is as basic as a bulk sausage can get. Pork, water, salt, black and red pepper, and sage are all things you find in this sausage and it cooks up well. I'm not a fan of bulk sausage because it's hard to keep together but it does breathe better than link sausage. In this case I've use the oil from the sausage to grill the mushrooms

All and all this is a solid product that is what one would expect. That leaves me almost nothing to talk about, but I don't mind. I mean getting what I expect is a good thing right?

Woodstock After Dark Bourbon & Chocolate

Woodstock After Dark Bourbon & Chocolate is what it sounds like a chocolate flavored bourbon. I'm not sure why you'd want one of these but good show making something different.

It has a stronger after taste and goes best with cola. The first few drinks of this took me off guard and I didn't know what to really think of the beverage.

Still, I have to say it's worth trying but not going on my buy list.

Gastronomiche Casa Milo Nerelli Squid Ink Pasta

Gastronomiche Casa Milo Nerelli Squid Ink Pasta is a little on the disappointing side. I didn't know what to expect from squid ink pasta and it smells enough like fish to make my cats attack the stuff, but the flavor is very mild.

Once more every now and again you get a bit that turns gray and gets bigger than the others. If there are some health benefits to this stuff then they would be worth eating but as far as trying something different they just taste like pasta.

Art's Burgers Double Cheeseburger

I came to work one day and a coworker was ranting and raving about a Double Cheeseburger from Art's Burger in El Monte California. I admitted to having visited the eatery the day before but never having had a cheeseburger of any kind.

Art's version comes with onion, thousand island dressing, tomato and lettuce. Is it as great as he said it was? Well, it's a great burger. The thing is made with real meat and cooked on a flat grill. This will blow your Big Mac out of the water but for a Whopper I think you need a double meat.

Anyway, great cheese to meat ratio and a solid burger.

Art's Burgers Chili Cheese Fries

'Art's Burgers' is a little drive through located in El Monte California. They don't take credit cards so when I go I have to have cash or a check card ready, but I drop by once or twice a week.

My go to is an order of Chili Cheese Fries which is quick, inexpensive, and satisfying. For one thing that is all real cheese. You get no cheese spread crap like I've had in other places. The chili is mild and the fries plentiful.

Eating at 'Art's Burgers' brings me back to my youth here in southern California and those chili cheese fries are a part of Americana that no one should miss.

Eat at Art's and support small business.

Canada Dry Sparkling Green Tea Ginger Ale

Canada Dry Sparkling Green Tea Ginger Ale is something I found at the discount market and didn't know was a thing. I had to try it and I'm glad I did because this is the best green tea soda I have ever had.

It is also the only green tea ginger ale I have ever had. This goes very well with a number of alcohols and has a flavor that refreshes.

I will point out that ginger ale is normally a thing you reach for to keep away from caffeine and this has caffeine. It also has antioxidants so this is as healthy a soda you can get and still use corn syrup.

Choco Chip Oreo

Choco Chip Oreo is not chocolate chip Oreo because someone forgot to add the chocolate flavor. These bland disks of dryness are the biggest disappointment of the Oreo spectrum so far. Come on Oreo, these things are a joke.

Mama Dosa's Sausage & Pepperoni Pizza

Mama Dosa's Sausage & Pepperoni Pizza curls when you cook it and tastes like almost nothing. If you want to get this stuff to work what you need to do is pop the toppings off and grill them before cooking the rest of the pizza to get them to be nice and cooked.

Otherwise, they just stay half cooked and bland.

Ragu Hearty Traditional

Ragu Hearty Traditional is some rather sort of generic stuff. I didn't think to much of this and it wasn't 'hearty' by any means. I mean, if you're going to call it 'hearty' it really should be. Also, why is this stuff so red. There should be some green herbs in there somewhere.

One day I want to go to Italy and have some sauce just to find out what it should taste like because I'm sure this isn't the real deal.

Peter & Pat's Pierogies Potato and Spinach

Peter & Pat's Pierogies Potato and Spinach are some fine Pierogies. I got these at Costco and had to rush to get a good shot of them before we ate them all.

They had two other flavors and I kick myself for not getting two bags of each. Then again, I'm a big fat guy and I'll eat just about anything.

Chef's Choice Premium Cornish Game Hen

Cornish Game Hen's are one of my brother's favorite kinds of chicken. Chef's Choice Premium Cornish Game Hens are about as good as any. They cook easily, and my brother loves them.

I can't say they stand out but at lest I can't find anything nasty about Chef's Choice as a company.

Romano's Macaroni Grill Shrimp Portofino

Ah, picturesque Portofino with its stunning harbor and wonderful fishing. So, I guess they got this shrimp there I mean I can't figure why else Romano's Macaroni Grill 'Shrimp Portofino' would be called that because I have never heard of Portofino as a dish or way of preparing food.

This is not to say that I disliked Shrimp Portofino. To be honest it was great. Shrimp, spinach, mushrooms and pine nuts over a bed of pasta. This was the best dish of my meal. I have to say that there could have been more spinach. The green vegetable is the filler for this and should have been the prevalent texture.

I want to make this at home just to see how it turns out it was so good.

Romano's Macaroni Grill Loaded Fries

Romano's Macaroni Grill Loaded Fries are what you get when you take something that is very American and try to make it Italian. Moreover, this is not so loaded.

I have to grant you that French Fries have been around so long that no one knows where they came from and the first known 'Potatoes Served in the French Manner' appeared at the White House under Jefferson in 1802.

The modern French Fries became Fries in the early two thousands because of something to do with Iraq and our being their with no good reason. Well, at least we kill some jerks who abuse women, but I digress.

The modern fries are loaded down with everything from chilly to pickled peppers and are as much a part of America as fat people like me.

This on the other hand is not loaded. It is more garnished and lacking the flare of even it's more patriotic cousins. Try harder next time.

Romano's Macaroni Grill Baked Prosciutto & Mozzarella

Prepare to be underwhelmed its Romano's Macaroni Grill Baked Prosciutto & Mozzarella. Just so you know, Prosciutto is a cured ham often served raw or 'crudo' in Italy.

That would make this tasteless mass of calories Prosciutto Cotto. The baking did nothing to enhance the flavor of this subtle food. I believe the bland bread was a proper side to this, but the sauce did nothing for me.

I wouldn't get this again and this is only large enough for four people to have a taste and all you'll get is a taste.  Order if you're not that hungry or order something else.

Macaroni Grill Rosemary Bread

Macaroni Grill's Rosemary Bread is what they give you so that you have something to chew on as you wait for your food. This is unique compared to any appetizer bread I've had before and I will say it's good.

The only big thing about it is that the whole dipping it in oil thing can drip on your shirt and be hell to get out. This is olive oil and that's just not going to come out easily.

Look, restaurant breads are never good for you so you want to eat this in moderation and with a bib.
