Dasani Sparkling Pear Kiwi

Is there some reason Kiwi keeps popping up? Why Pear Kiwi Dasani Sparkling water is a thing I just don't know. As with most sparkling water you can hardly taste the flavor anyway so the Kiwi is no big thing. This stuff is unoffensive and almost soda. Go for it!

Jollibee Chicken Strips

I only go to Jollibee when I have to go to the office to pick up uniforms or something of that nature. This means you should take into account that I was in a bad mood when I had these Jollibee Chicken Strips. They stunk. Stael and lacking crunch they were a disappointment.

S&W Coffee Shop Arabica Blend

If there is a hell S&W Coffee Shop Arabica Blend would be the coffee they serve. This stuff is bitter and muddy with an unpleasant aroma. This coffee was so bad that I tossed the unused amount in the grass rather than make it, and even my brother wouldn't drink the stuff. 

Cafe Valley Bakery Gourmet Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffins

Gourmet Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffins by Cafe Valley Bakery are basically chocolate chip muffins. They have no real pumpkin like qualities. Moreover, the first ingredient is sugar and there are more chocolate chips than there is pumpkin. 

These taste great, are bad for you, and have very little of the important ingredient. I feel so used. 

Pioneer Cafe Strawberry Shake

If you sit at the right table you can watch them scoop the ice cream for your Strawberry Shake at the Pioneer Cafe in Glendale. It will then be odd to you that the shake is so mild. Honestly, it was more like a cure for upset stomach than a dessert. 

Pioneer Cafe Filet of Sole

As I ran down the menu at Pioneer Cafe in Glendale I found Filet of Sole. Sole is a white fish kind of like a flounder I think. It's a bit hard to figure it out because the American definition is lose by comparison. 

In any case, what you got here is fish and chips, and I love fish and chips. It was served a little on the hot side and it burnt my mouth but otherwise was a great meal. It's better as a finger food because a butter knife will have trouble with this sole. 

All and all, good job on this one. Remember that everything at Pioneer Cafe tends to be bland so as not to bother the unsuspecting tourist. Pepper this up if you like spice. 

Burlington Comfort Power Men's Black Crew Socks

I'm a security guard so I need Burlington Comfort Power Men's Black Crew Socks for work and I buy them because they are made in America.

The socks are soft and long lasting. I have been using them for years. 

Good and Simple Walnut + Grains Bars

There are just not enough walnuts in these 'Good and Simple Walnut + Grains Bars' but there are sugars and bad fats. These thing taste really good but aren't all that great for you but if you don't eat them commonly they shouldn't be all that big of a deal. 

I'm not going to have these as a common addition to my lunch bag but I'm going to enjoy the ones I have. 

Dasani Sparkling Strawberry Guava

You'd think Strawberry Guava would be a funny combination but you hardly taste it so don't worry. This flavor of Dasani Sparkling is a great fit for those who are trying to drink less soda because it has that feel and is kind of sweet. I really liked this one and I'll likely get more...which is a pain because it would be more interesting if I made fun of it.

Firehouse Subs Smokehouse Beef and Cheddar Brisket Sub

Firehouse Subs Smokehouse Beef and Cheddar Brisket Sub has one of those long names that is so annoying that it almost negates the goodness of this sandwich.

Well, other than the fact that the sandwich will drip all over the place it's totally kicking.  I will order this again, but it can use more cheese. 

AMP Energy Organic Energy Drink Citrus

AMP Energy Citrus is a fine citrus soda, but it's just soda. The modern concept of the energy drink include B vitamins and AMP has none. 

If you want to keep the party going with a whisky sour these are find and safer than a real energy drink, but if you want to stay up for work these are the wrong buy. 

There is a lot of sugar in this by comparison to other soda so keep that in mind if you buy these. 

Pioneer Cafe Prawns

I ordered the Prawns at Pioneer Cafe, and if I ever make it through the menu this will likely become my go to meal. I don't know why, but I've been wanting more of these since I tried them. 

Pioneer Cafe Salad

Salad at the Pioneer Cafe in Glendale is lettuce and tomatoes with dressing. . . Well, I mean, that is kind of what salad is I guess. 

Fiber One Cheesecake Bar Chocolate

Fiber One Cheesecake Bar Chocolate are junk food trying to look healthy like when women wear those panties that come up to their belly button. Well, fiber is a good thing. Fiber keeps you from spending your life on the toilet looking at your smart phone. 

I mean, who do you think you are, the president? Don't tweet from the can people!

Anyway, these are much better with coffee because the crust is dry. Past that, good tasting product. I'm not going to buy more because it's junk food and I'm fat. 

Maccha KitKat

Maccha or Matcha is ground green tea leaves. That makes these green tea KitKats. I mean, they smell a little like fish and taste like, well, KitKats. Not much to say about these, but take account that these are something different and I like different so I will say you should try them.  I don't think you should go looking for them, but if you find them try them. 

On the House Grenadine Syrup

"On the House Grenadine Syrup"...is 'on the house' a really good name for anything that gets used at a bar? Other than that, this is okay stuff. 

What do you really think about Grenadine Syrup anyway? I mean, how does this stuff come about? 

As it's made from corn syrup 'On the House' cannot be thought of as a high quality product. It gets the job done. I can't say much else.  

Hostess Twinkies Ice Cream

I saw Hostess Twinkies Ice Cream and had to try this stuff, because I didn't even know they made Hostess Ice Cream. It's surprisingly good and not made with Twinkies. It's made with pound cake I think. 

In any case, this is a neutral flavor that lends it self to all kinds of concoctions that will tickle your taste buds.  Put this on your 'try it' list. 

Turveda Turmeric Sparkling Beverage

Turveda Turmeric Sparkling Beverage is one of those products that I just had to try even as it looks nasty. It is nasty. I don't know who would drink turmeric and black pepper soda. In addition, this stuff has a precipitate that makes this slime at the bottom. You shake it up and it gets cloudy. 

Now, I do believe this stuff was on the old side and stopped sparkling, but I have to say this is a drink you should try once in your life and will never try again. 

Pioneer Cafe Chicken Strips

Chicken Strips at the Pioneer Cafe in Glendale are basic, classic, and what your looking for when you order them. They fit the definition of chicken strips so well that there isn't a lot for me to say about them. One of the best things on the menu. 

Pioneer Cafe Split Pea Soup

At the Pioneer Cafe in Glendale you may order something that comes with soup and Split Pea may be the soup of the day. Like most of the food at the Pioneer Cafe this is simple in nature and will not offend. If you're having indigestion this would be a great choice, because it's thick and filling. 

Just remember that it's up to you, the diner, to add pepper or salt to taste with this soup. 

Mike's Hard Water Melon Lemonade

With the Summer coming back it's time to reach for mikes once again and this Water Melon Lemonade looked to good to pass up. Well, it looked that way but it's kind of bland. It's not very lemoney or water melony. 

The thing about Mike's is you hardly know you're drinking alcohol. With this stuff it's hard to know what you're drinking at all. 

Texas Tamale Company Gourmet Chicken Tamales

Clearly made by some Hippy in Texas 'Texas Tamale Company' 'Gourmet Chicken Tamales' are gluten free and made without lard. In short, they are as far away from a tamale as one can and still taste that good. 

Are they as good as the real thing? No, but they are the best frozen or canned tamales I've ever had. 

Subway Sandwiches Turkey Breast Breakfast Croissant

Subway Sandwiches Turkey Breast Breakfast Croissants are another push into the breakfast market by the sandwich people and I have to say these are okay. 

I wouldn't say they are as good as a sausage egg McMuffin, but these are on the right track for people who want something that keeps warm longer than other Subway offerings. 

I still wouldn't recommend eating this when driving. 

AMP Energy Pineapple Coconut

With a name like 'AMP' you'd figure this stuff would be for the hard core energy addict, but it's very mild in kick. Light on the sugar this stuff doesn't give you that feeling in your mouth of nasty after drinking too much of it. 

As for the flavor, well, it's on the mild side, but still nice and fruity. I really don't notice the coconut.

AMP is okay and I'll buy more if I find it at the right price, but it's not replacing my old go to for energy drinks.

AriZona Extra Strength Energy Shot Grapeade

So you partied a little too hard this weekend and that Tequila is no joke. You knew better, I mean really, every year you do this and feel like you've seen my sister. Now you got to totter off to work.

You may try a AriZona Extra Strength Energy Shot Grapeade and you will be sorry you did because these do almost nothing and taste like nasty chemicals. 

Now, if you're not an energy addict these may have a hand in getting you back on your feet, but I work at night so I've gotten used to things like this. 

On the other hand, if you need to keep a shooter around the flavor of this thing will keep you from drinking it unnecessarily.  

Pioneer Cafe Onion Rings

If you stop by the 'Pioneer Cafe' in Glendale you may order some onion rings as a side or appetizer. These things are rather good and have something of a doughnut like quality. As onion rings go these really stand out. 

El Jefe Reposado Tequila

El Jefe Reposado Tequila is the kind of Tequila you don't take as a shot, because it will give you gut pain. Mixed in a drink it will show its colors well and give you a profound experience. 

This tequila hits like a hammer and you can really feel it after a few drinks. 

That said the bottle, which I think is a collector's edition, is not well made and that hat doesn't stay on the warrior. This will not be a great addition to your collection if you plan to drink the stuff. 

Bon Sole Crumb Donuts

As Crumb Donuts go Bon Sole don't get all over the place so they are better than some I've had. These are good but not wonderful. I always get these if they go on sale, but I don't go looking for them. 

Bubly Sparkling Water Limebubly

My soda habit becoming something of a problem I've been reaching for sparkling water more and more often. I was at the store and 'Bubly Sparkling Water' was a good deal so I got two cases of 'Limebubly'.

Well, it doesn't give me the runs like diet soda and it tastes okay. Enough said. 

Juicy Whip Rica Limonada

Juicy Whip Rica Limonada is lemonade that needs vodka to make it good. Not all lemonade needs vodka to make it good so don't look at me like that. Do I judge your drinking habits?

Mr. Giant Chicken Platter

If you happen to be in uptown Whittier you may decide to stop in at Mr. Giant and get the chicken platter. That is honestly some good chicken but the beans and rice could use some seasoning. This comes with flour or corn tortillas and you don't get enough to wrap it all up. 

Still, I think this is one of the better things on the menu. I'll likely get this again.
