Devour Cordon bleu Mac & Cheese with Chicken

Devour Cordon bleu Mac & Cheese with Chicken looks little like what you see on the box but it tasted okay. It was a little small, but what do you expect? It was cheap, and most folks think that cheap is good enough. 

It isn't bad, many of the things I try aren't bad, but it wasn't great. 
 

Taco Bell Chicken Cheesy Dipping Burritos

 I feel like I got less chicken in my Taco Bell Chicken Cheesy Dipping Burritos than I got beef in my Taco Bell Steak Cheesy Dipping Burritos, but I was still more a fan of the chicken. The dipping sauce was fine but I could have eaten it on it's own. 

If you're going to Taco Bell you're probably high anyway and would eat just about anything. 

Taco Bell is a consistent inexpensive option that doesn't make me sick. I don't really know why it gets a bad reputation. I've never gotten sick there.

Anyway, these are a buy.

Wendy’s Cobb Salad

 

I can say that the Cobb Salad at Wendy’s is just about bursting with chicken, cheese, bacon, and egg. There may have been some Cobb in there but it was rather hard to find. It was also free of onions so I have to say it was my kind of salad even as it was not all that salad like now that I think of it.

Being a big fat man I’m not into salad and I’ve eaten a good many of them. I’ve made a good many of them as well but we won’t talk about that.

All in all, good product. I would get this again.

 

Sonic Crispy Tenders

 It's hard to find a Sonic where I live and I can tell why, because these Crispy Tenders were almost chicken. The breading came right off and they were of general low quality. 

Come on Sonic. Chicken is inexpensive and easy to keep frozen and yet you hand me this crap which I could have made in the microwave.  

I would never get this again, because it just isn't hard to find better chicken. 

Boston Market Chicken, Broccoli & Cheese Casserole

Do you see broccoli in this Boston Market Chicken, Broccoli & Cheese Casserole? There isn't enough broccoli in this to call it a broccoli casserole. There could be more chicken but the broccoli should be the main feature. 

This was cheese and rice. I would say that it was edible. I didn't want to spit it out or leave it on the plate but it needed more broccoli. I save the healthy meals for January given that everyone is trying to get healthy but this isn't healthy.  

If you wanted to make this healthy you would need to add a good deal more vegetables. Frozen food is often bad for you and the fact that there are vegetables make this better for you but only just.  
 

Kraft Stove Top Stuffing Mix for Chicken

 Kraft Stove Top Stuffing Mix for Chicken tastes great right off the stove. After a few hours the dehydrated vegetables hydrate and start to make a crunching sound that I find off putting. I just can’t eat this stuff after it’s been sitting around. I really wish they had powdered those vegetables.

I do have to admit that I don’t get the idea of chicken stuffing or why it’s any different from turkey stuffing. Why would you cram this stuff up a birds tail I couldn’t say, but stuffing has largely become something I just don’t put in birds.

Okay, stuffing is something I would never eat were it not for this blog, but you get the idea.

Anyway, this stuffing will likely go on sale after the holidays so if stuffing is your thing this is a fine option. If stuffing is your thing, you may need your head checked, but who am I to judge.

Devour Buffalo Style Chicken Mac & Cheese

 Devour Buffalo Style Chicken Mac & Cheese is one of those things I've just given up on stirring. I dropped it in for six minutes and this came out. It's not that bad but a good amount of it was stuck together. 

This wasn't a bad thing as I had forgotten my fork and was scooping it up with chips. It was a really good dip now that I think of it. I would have liked better chips. 

Anyway, like most 'buffalo style' food this is not as intense as the buffalo sauce I remember from my youth. It gets the flavor right but there isn't enough of it to really clear your nose. 

I would still get this again. It wasn't bad.

Hillshire Farm Roasted Garlic Chicken Smoked Sausage

 I found this Hillshire Farm Roasted Garlic Chicken Smoked Sausage in the back of my refrigerator and wondered if it was still good. I mean, it smelled like sausage. I ate it and I didn't get sick. It was, however, really salty. 

I mean, maybe it was the fact that I hadn't had fast food in long enough to decrees my salt tolerance. Eat vegetables for a few days and you will find most fat food tastes very salty. 

I think that's how vegans get by. Cut out the salt and you taste so much more. Food needs little salt to change the flavor, but the salt really makes flavors pop. 

Anyway, this needed more of a garlic flavor to really get it going, and I didn't taste that. Maybe it was too old. Hillshire Farm is normally a very solid brand. 

Boston Market Hot Honey Fried Chicken

Boston Market Home Style Meals tend to be on the not great side. They’re small and look nothing like what the box shows you. This Hot Honey Fried Chicken is no exception with the chicken being mostly breading and not even filling the space in the tray.

Had I not gotten this at a very good price I would be angry but maybe that’s why I got this at the good price.

The pasta wasn’t bad. It has a little spice to it but no heat to speak of. I didn’t need water when I ate this and in fact was drinking hot coffee.

All in all, it’s food and nothing more.

The Tamale Café Tamale Combo Pack, Chicken & Jalapeno Cheese

 The Tamale Café Tamale Combo Pack, Chicken & Jalapeno Cheese are as close as packed tamales have come to being the real thing. They are just a little too small and have just a little too little filling. They do taste great and the Jalapeno is cut small enough so that you can eat it even if you're heat sensitive.  

If you can't get the real deal then these are worth a try. I like them but they could be just a little better.

Jack in the Box Classic Chicken Sauced & Loaded Sando

 I came in to work one day and was offered a Jack in the Box Classic Chicken Sauced & Loaded Sando which had been sitting around for a few hours. As no one else wanted it I ate the thing and as I had not reviewed them before I figured why not?

This is two chicken strips on a grill hotdog bun with a few fries and some cheese and goop on top. It's not bad. I mean, for having sat around a wile it was still good and not soggy at all. 

It didn't keep in the bun all that well with stuff falling out but other than needing a napkin this was something I would try again.

Progresso Toppers Chicken Tortilla Soup with Tortilla Strips

 Progresso Toppers Chicken Tortilla Soup with Tortilla Strips is one of the nicer things you can put in your lunch bag. It's microwave ready and if it came with a spoon you would be all set. It does not come with a spoon, but you can drink it out of the cup. Just be sure to wait the minute the pack says to let it cool down. 

I have to say this stuff is good. I mean, not filling but good enough to make me want to put it in my lunch and look forward to eating it. I never did care much for these things but this one really stand above. 

It has a great crunch and a hint of spice. Good stuff.

Mom's Touch Soy Garlic Wings

 Mom's Touch Soy Garlic Wings are not the kind of thing you order on a date. This didn't stop the girls that work at Mom's Touch from being a bit flirty but I think that was because the place is slow and they want poeple to come back. 

Anyway, you want to order fries with this because the sauce is a little runny and you have a lot left on the bottom of the box. The flavor is great but drippy and it stays with you for a few hours after eating. 

Yeah, this is a dinner food. Brush if you want to get friendly after eating this, but it is very good.

Sweet Earth Pesto Chik'n Lasagna

 Sweet Earth Pesto Chik'n Lasagna was an interesting thing to have pop up in my local market. Sweet Earth offers some plant based foods and this is one of them. There isn't much of the pho chicken but what is there is good enough. 

I'm not going to say this was killer lasagna but it wasn't bad as lasagna goes. I've had much worse. The pesto could have been stronger, which would have made this more authentic, but it gave me pesto breath for the rest of the day. 

All in all, I would buy this again.

Near East Herbed Chicken Couscous Mix

Near East Herbed Chicken Couscous Mix is a product that most people I know would only have for variety. It's much like rice only dry and more sand like so that you need more water to get it down. 

The good part of this is that it adds something different to the table but once you pass that mark you have to admit there is nothing all that interesting about couscous. 

If your having a dinner party this is an easy way to add some cultures to your meal, and it can even be a good conversation piece. Just be ready for the bad jokes about only one cous because someone is on a diet.

Bistro Sensations Mozzarella Chicken Sausage

The first thing that happened when I bit into my Bistro Sensations Mozzarella Chicken Sausage was that I got a burst of hot molten cheese on my face. I had first degree burns.

 These sausages taste great, but the cheese makes no impact on how good they are. I mean, buy them, sure, let them cool a bit so you don't burn yourself. Just don't think the cheese is a big thing.

Signature Cafe Buffalo Style Chicken Calzone

 The Signature Cafe Buffalo Style Chicken Calzone is a heat and eat item that may show up in the fresh deli section of you're local grocery. It's not very buffalo. 

Then again, the buffalo sauce that comes to my mind is the stuff that we used to take shots of back in high school to show how tough we were. It's funny how many of us had to use the restroom after doing that. It's also funny how many of us were home from school the next day after doing that. Stuff would have it's revenge.  

So this tastes kind of like that but without the kick that came with it. If you like the flavor without the heat then these are your bag. they are best out of the oven. 

To be honest, I will buy these again, or at least other's of the same brand. 

Near East Rice Pilaf Mix Chicken

 Near East Rice Pilaf Mix Chicken is one of those things you make to add to your meal that you don't think much about. I mean, it's good but not a standout. It's something to put on your plate that is made of rice but not as snooze inducing.

This is also salty enough so that you shouldn't be adding any more salt to your meal. I added pepper to my chicken and herbs to my cauliflower the result being well worth eating.  

In short, this pilaf is pleasant to the eye and pallet, but not memorable enough to strike conversation. 

Sandra's Antibiotic Free Chicken with Kale & Pepperjack

 Sandra's Antibiotic Free Chicken with Kale & Pepperjack is one of those swanky kinds of things that taste great but kind of feel off. I mean, they aren't very hot, but I can taste the heat when I eat them. Once you let them cool you can grab them and eat them without spilling too much.

All and all, I would buy these again. Good stuff.

Amylu Sriracha Honey Uncured Chicken Bacon

 Amylu Sriracha Honey Uncured Chicken Bacon is not bacon. I mean, you would never think this was bacon. It tastes like sausage and it's not bad at all, but it's still not bacon. 

I think this stuff is not bad. I would recommend that you try it. It may not be bacon but it's a fine thing to put in your sandwich.
