Let's Get Ready To Rumble Energy Original tastes a lot like Monster and looks like piss, also like monster I guess. It works find and is otherwise nothing to write home about. 

I mean, it's a lot like Monster. 
 

Stars & Stripes Cola

Stars & Stripes Cola was a thing I heard about but hadn’t tried until now. I knew a man who worked at the 99 Cents Only store back around the turn of the millennium and he would by this stuff and call it “Ulcer Cola”. Finally seeing it at the Dollar Tree I had to try some and I have to admit it was better than I thought it would be.

Stuff wasn’t bad at all. It was almost as good as good old Coke. I would never have mistaken it for Pepsi but as soda goes it was really worth it for the price.

7 Up Tropical Soda

 7 Up Tropical Soda should not be confused with 7 Up Tropical Mango Peach Soda which has more green on the can. 

The mango version needs way more mango to be mango. It tastes fine but it really needs more flavor to make it worth drinking. 

I wouldn't get it again. It isn't as good as 7 Up.

Sparkling Ice Spiked Lemonade Refresher Hard Seltzer

Sparkling Ice Spiked Lemonade Refresher Hard Seltzer has a strong lemon flavor. It's kind of like lemon water with more lemon. I don't know if I call it refreshing, but I would say it would go over well on a hot day. 

This is only 4% alcohol so don't think it's going to get you very drunk. That is unless you drink a lot of the stuff which can be a good or bad thing dependent on your drinking habits. 

I would say this stuff is okay, I wouldn't get more but I wouldn't turn it down if it were free.
 

Accelerator Active Energy Rocket Pop Energy Drink

The Accelerator Active Energy Rocket Pop Energy Drink where on sale at my local market and I figured I’d try them. They were a good deal after all and I often drink energy drinks.

Did they taste like rocket pops? How would I know? I haven’t had a rocket pop in more than twenty years. Do I look five to you?

I guess the reminded me of rocket popes but I was never a fan of rocket pops and I don’t even know if rocket popes is what you call them. They were good and worked well enough but didn’t have the kick to get my depressed heinie out of bed.

 

Stars and Stripes Fruit Punch

Stars and Stripes was a Ninety Nine Cents Only Store brand back in the day but it lives on at The Dollar Tree. With a lot of us looking for less expensive options I just had to pick this up and I have to say it tastes enough like the genuine article to be worth buying. I haven’t had normal “Hawaiian Punch” in years but I remember it well enough to know that this tastes a lot like it.

 

Dr. Squatch Cedar Citrus Soap

I have to say I'm disappointed in this Dr. Squatch Cedar Citrus Soap. Cedar is what you use to keep fleas away, and other bugs, and I just didn't smell much from this. 

I use cedar oil in my laundry and I love the stuff. I tend to put a drop or two on my pillows and blankets to keep the vermin out when my cats join me in bed. 

I really don't think this will help with that and I couldn't smell a thing after I showered with this. It may get you clean, but I thought the point was to smell nice. 
 

Melinda’s Black Pepper Ketchup

If you don't like ketchup but you don't want hot sauce Melinda’s Black Pepper Ketchup is kind of your thing. I would have never thought it was ketchup had I not seen the bottle and black pepper really isn't what it tastes like.

I'll grant that it isn't bad, kind of like a savory BBQ really. It has as much flavor as ketchup but really doesn't taste like it much. 

To be honest, this is a fine thing to have at your summer cookout because it's interesting but not overpowering. I don't think I'd get it on the regular but I'd say this is worth picking up. 
 

Monster Rehab Watermelon

I think Monster Rehab is something you buy when you admit that you're an alcoholic and you need to make it to work in the morning. It has electrolytes to get you up after a night of hard partying.

 The Watermelon flavor is watery  and not too melon. It doesn't put a fire in me but I'm a caffeine addict so I guess it wouldn't do that much to me anyway.  

I'd say that this stuff is okay. I wouldn't get more, but then I don't get boozed up.
 

SimplyGo Sliced Sharp Cheddar Cheese

 SimplyGo Sliced Sharp Cheddar Cheese is a little mild for a sharp cheddar. I mean, the name says it all, it's cheddar cheese, but the sharp labial normally has a stronger taste.  

I can't be too critical of this cheese because it's a common person product. It gets the job done, but normal sharp does have more kick.  

Guy Fieri’s Flavortown Traditional Style Chicken Pot Pie

In the world of this has a long name we have "Guy Fieri’s Flavortown Traditional Style Chicken Pot Pie" which is about as average as a chicken pot pie can be. Nothing wrong with them, but Flavertown must be misnamed. 

This was just fine. I would say the crust was the best part, but it was a little bland. I would have added some pepper to give it zip. 

Flavortown is dull's vill.
 

 

Jarritos Grapefruit Soda

 Jarritos Grapefruit Soda is a bit more mild than I would have thought it would be. Jarritos brings the flavor and this is a flavor I have to say is worth trying. I’ve never been a big fan of Grapefruit soda and I wouldn’t even call this all that much grapefruit. Still, not bad.

Thomas High Protein Plain Bagels

 Thomas is a trusted name with breads and their High Protein Plain Bagels are okay. I will grant that most of the time you use bagels to hold the protein you're about to eat but these work fine for that so I guess the more protein the better. 

These will burn a little sooner than normal bagels and I think they come apart a little rough.  You can tell these aren't normal bagels but it's just not a big deal. 

All and all, not bad.  

Nature Valley Almond Sweet and Salty Nut Granola Bars

Nature Valley Almond Sweet and Salty Nut Granola Bars are nutty little bars that I can eat all day and still want more. This being my biggest problem with them is that I can eat them all day.

I like these, but I have to admit that they aren't good for me.  

Where this the 90's I would also have to toss in a few gay jokes about salty nuts. It was an odd time.

Anyway, tasty but still candy.  
 

Virgil's Black Cherry Soda

 Virgil's Black Cherry Soda showed up at my local discount market and sat in my refrigerator for way too long before I took it out and had it with vodka. This is why people say I'm an alcoholic. 

This is a premium real cane sugar soda with a smooth flavor and no bad after taste. It tastes a lot like real cherry. 

It when well with vodka and would be the kind of thing that you should drink slow and saver. This is the good stuff so don't guzzle it down.  

Lenny & Larry's The Complete Cookie Lemon Poppy Seed

I think Lenny & Larry's The Complete Cookie is a company that works with that cookie diet thing. Well their Lemon Poppy Seed cookie tastes like a diet cookie. Why would you eat at diet cookie? I don't know.

I'll grant you that this is a cookie that can be eaten without milk as it's moist and soft, but where as it has enough sugar to be a cookie it just doesn't taste much like one.  

These things are food and nothing more. I wouldn't get them again but if you wanted food that you can have and not crave this is a great food for you.  

As for me, I wouldn't get this again.  

Ocean Spray Sparkling Cranberry Mango

Ocean Spray Sparkling Cranberry Mango is light on the mango flavor. I would say that it's not as sweet as soda and has few other redeeming qualities. 

This has the quality of being that thing that exists. It doesn't have any real reason to exist and it doesn't taste like much, but it is a real thing that is part of this world. 

You can take it or leave it, but don't expect much of it. 
 

Java Chip Oreo Cookies

 Java Chip Oreo Cookies don't taste enough like coffee. Oreo Cookies aren't what they used to be. I mean, they were so much better when I was a kid. 

However, by accident I left one of these out for a day or two and it was still fresh. Preservatives have gone so far. It's amazing.  

I'm going to have to grant that I'm not big on the Oreo now days so these were about what I expected. 

I wouldn't get more, but I won't throw them out.  

Minute Made Watermelon

 Minute Made Watermelon is not as good as drinking watermelon. I have frozen watermelon and ground it into a smoothie. 

For the most part, this is sugar water. The taste is good, but it isn't good for you. 

Bon Appetit Cheese Coffee Cake

Bon Appetit Cheese Coffee Cake is lighter, not by much, and has more of a stopper than their cheese cake version. I have to admit that it makes me lament being a big fat dude who can't eat this kind of thing every day. 

This is the kind of thing that you find at a gas station or in a vending machine and you wind up missing it when it's gone. It brings me back to better economic times when I worked in old crappy guard houses surrounded by dirt and roaches.

Now days they tore down those old buildings and all that's left are the roaches.  
 

Lay's Baked Barbecue Potato Crisps

Baked Lay's are not sliced potatoes. Their shape would indicate they are made of batter than is cut and then baked. The are potato flat bread or potato crackers. 

Does that make them bad or bad for you? No.

To be dead honest the barbecue verieaty tastes fine. I get strong notes of sugar and sage. They crunch like chips and are almost as good as the real thing. 

You can't really scoop your avocado with them. Things are brittle and flimsy,  but they taste fine.  
 

Blake's Roasted Chicken

 Blake's Roasted Chicken is chicken and rice with sauce and broccoli. There needed to be more broccoli and rice. I could have done with more chicken, but with so little rice and broccoli this was a very small meal in a rather large  box. 

It should be noted that the big box mean that the food cooks faster because less food does cook faster. Still, it's too little food to be a meal.  

I will add that the chicken was on the tough side. It did look to be real enough, but still, tough.

So I ate every bit of this frozen meal, not that there was much to it, and that makes it better than average. Not good, but better than average.  

Warheads Sour Soda Peach

Warheads Sour Soda Peach is peach only in color and taste like Granny Smith Apple. This can of disappointment is often hard to find at my local Dollar Tree and I think that they should change up this flavor because it just doesn't live up to its name.

Monster Juice Khaotic Orange Citrus

Monster Juice Khaotic Orange Citrus tastes just like an orange ice-pop. I will admit that this was a little too rich for me and the flavor was something that could use a thinning  but man was this good. 

I had this with chipped ice, from a room temperature can, and it was a dream in glass. 

I'll grant that I wouldn't drink another one in short order but then you shouldn't do that with am energy drink. 

These things are killer good.
 

Saffron Road Vegetable Bibimbap

 Saffron Road Vegetable Bibimbapn is the kind of thing that is just slopped together and not mixed so that the flavor can really be inconsistent. It is a little on the spicy side. I'm not a big fan of Tofu but it has almost no flavor and will simply taste like the spicy sauce. 

This is not my cup of tea. The rice is soggy, as are the vegetables, and the whole thing just falls flat.  

It is edible, which says a lot for frozen food, but it isn't good either.  

In a world were people need food and this is food you may find this at the right price. If you do, it will keep you alive, but will life be worth living if you have to eat this? 

McDonald's Mango Pineapple Refresher

Shortly before midnight I came home from McDonald's to try this Mango Pineapple Refresher. I feel insulted that I was expected to pay almost five dollars for a medium this thing. 

There was bitter pineapple, definitely not the superior Hawaiian variety, and all most no mango to be tasted.

The worst part is those red things that get stuck in the ice and cannot be tasted unless you dig them out or wait for the thing to melt. I mean, what's the point?

Anyway, fail, not worth the money.    
 

Costco Food Court Chocolate Ice Cream

 Costco Food Court Chocolate Ice Cream is some good old soft serve. I wouldn’t call it great or memorable but as with everything Costco it’s the right deal for the price.

I mean, good stuff really but it could use a bit more pizzazz.
