The Wornick Company Chicken Pesto Pasta is something that you may get in an EverSafe Meal Kit or a US Military M.R.E. and it really tastes like pesto. I wished I had something to eat with it because of the strong flavor. Then it stood out among other M.R.E. foods and didn't make me sick.  

If I got this on a long campaign in the sand box I wouldn't trade it for another meal.

Jianas Brother Packaging Company Beverage Base Powder Lemon-Lime

Looking like something you'd expect to turn your into a super hero or you household pet into a ninja Jianas Brother Packaging Company Beverage Base Powder Lemon-Lime is the green slime of field operations. It has one of those flavors that make you unable to tell if you hate it or love it and it's bug juice texture. 

Now,  I did put this in a water bottle and shook it like I hate myself and that made it smooth and made all the sugar dissolve save a few dregs. I would think this stuff would be better with a shot of whisky, but I'm not sure I would use good whisky on this.

The Wornick Company Asian Style Beef Strips With Vegetables

The Wornick Company "Asian Style Beef Strips With Vegetables" are a horrible thing to find in your M.R.E. or EverSafe Meal Kit.  The vegetables are so strange you can hardly eat them and the beef is so bad that stray cat's wouldn't even eat it for me.

Both my brother and I hated this glop.

Sterling Foods Carrot Pound Cake

Sterling Foods Carrot Pound Cake is a nutty wonder of both EverSafe Meal Kits and US Military M.R.E.s. It really is too bad they have 2 grams of trans-fat which increases the shelf live of the product wile decreasing the life expectancy of soldiers.

I think the Vanilla Pound Cake is better tasting, but they will both kill you in the end. 

The Wornick Company Beef Ravioli in Meat Sauce

The Wornick Company's 'Beef Ravioli in Meat Sauce' is one of the best items found in US Military M.R.E.s and EverSafe Meal Kits. My favorite part is the little bits of meat that come in the sauce. I will have to point out that this is by no means a healthy meal but in turns of not being hungry this works okay.

Jianas Brothers Packaging Company Beverage Base Powder Tropical Punch

Jianas Brothers Packaging Company 'Beverage Base Powder Tropical Punch' is one of the things in both U.S. Military M.R.E. and EverSafe meal kits designed to encourage proper hydration. It tastes like Gatorade to me and as I never voluntarily drink Gatorade I have to say that's a bad thing. I'd much rather have the orange or lime. 

The Wornick Company Pot Roast with Vegetables

The Wornick Company Pot Roast with Vegetables features in both US Military M.R.E.'s and EverSafe Meal Kits has a big chunk of meat in it and is a reasonable facsimile of something I would make at home.

It didn't come with a box so I'm not sure if it will kill me or not, but if you eat these things make sure when you get home you get your vegetables because that's not even close to enough.

Jianas Brothers Packing Company Vanilla Dairyshake Powder

Jianas Brothers Packing Company Vanilla Dairyshake Powder is a thing no human in their right might would consume unless they believed it was the key to better health or they were starving. 

Why they are included in US Military M.R.E.'s or EverSafe Meal Kits is beyond me.

The Wornick Company Crackers

The Wornick Company Crackers have always been a favorite of mine in US Military M.R.E.'s and I was pleased to find them in my EverSafe Meal Kit. Their flaky, buttery flavor touches a part of my heart.

Then I read the ingredients and find that they are full of trans-fat and made with the death Hydrogenated oil that will one day stop my heart.

How has the world turned so poor that we slowly poison our soldiers with this synthetic crap?

The Wornick Company Nut Raisin Mix

The Wornick Company Nut Raisin Mix comes in EverSafe Meal Kits and US Military M.R.E.'s. These things are just kind of, well, normal.

That is to say that I don't think much of them but they are better than many of the offerings of The Wornick Company that fail to be real food.

Kari-Out Co. Fresh Nap Moist Towelette

Kari-Out Co. Fresh Nap Moist Towelette is a thing that comes both in EverSafe Meal Kits and US Military M.R.E.'s. These little things can be life savers when you work out in the open like I've had two but the only problem with them is for a ready meal pack you need two. One to wash your hands before eating and one to clean up after.

The Wornick Company Raisins

There are too many ingredients in these The Wornick Company Raisins. They have a slimy texture, and are kind of gross. The worst kicker is the Hydrogenated oil used to make these.

Raisins last a long time already so why do they need to be turned into these things?

The Wornick Company Au Gratin Potatoes

The Wornick Company Au Gratin Potatoes is pared with

The Wornick Company Pork Sausage Gravy

 to make a meal that will give you new insights into the life of a soldier. This is not to say that the potatoes are so bad. They're just kind of there without being much to talk about.

There are few foods at this point that make me wish I could pic the menu on my EverSafe Meal Kit as much as the pack these came in. I guess it would cost more to get the food you want rather than just whatever they stuff in a box.

So it stand that the clear packaging of the MRE's is not the only difference between them and the Military versions. The military ones have an A and B menu so you can avoid these things if you want to.

These Potatoes make me remember how much I love making my own food!

Berry Plastics Company Sugar

Berry Plastics Company Sugar? Plastics Company? Well, I guess that's because they make a bag that will hold the sugar for a long time.

In any case, this is the sugar that came in my EverSafe Meal Kit and the same sugar that should come in a US military M.R.E.. I'm happy that these came in two packets so that you can decide how much sugar you want in your coffee.

Me, being a fat pig, I use both packets and it's still not sweet enough for me.

Sterling Foods Vanilla Pound Cake

Sterling Foods Vanilla Pound Cake has broken my heart. It's the 3.5 grams of trans-fat that I just can't deal with. I love these things and the little crystals on them when you take them out of the pack. Now I know that these things will kill me.

The more I read up on M.R.E.'s the more I feel for our service people. What's the deal with all the unhealthy food?

If you're wondering, yes these are the same Pound Cakes from real military M.R.E.'s. I may have gotten this one from EverSafe but Sterling Foods supplies the US military.

Jianas Brothers Packaging Company Strawberry Banana Dairyshake Powder

Jianas Brothers Packaging Company's Strawberry Banana Dairyshake Powder is one of those 'huh' items that comes in M.R.E. and I was kind of surprised to find them in my EverSafe Meal Kit.

I've always been the kind of fellow to 'Pack Out' and dump my trash at home, but with these things I say you just dump the trash because it can get stinky. 

Other than that, these have four grams of Trans Fat which is know to be an unhealthy killer. I will never eat one of these on my own but rather share them with my brother to spread the trans fat out between us.

Maybe I should give these to the homeless or something. I mean, if you're starving you can't have fat build up in your arteries can you? 

The Wornick Company Mexican Style Chicken Stew

The Wornick Company 'Mexican Style Chicken Stew' was a welcome find in my EverSafe M.R.E.. I found this to be a well rounded meal but the chicken was a little dry.

The chunky Mexican stew is a little bland but still this was a good meal. Too bad it came with that nasty Santa Fe Rice.

EverSafe M.R.E. Deep Rich Instant Coffee

EverSafe M.R.E. Deep Rich Instant Coffee better be the name of this, because it was not deep nor rich in my opinion. It was passable coffee, I'll grant you, and I've never been a fan of instant so that says something. 

Given that a world without coffee is not worth living in this stuff is a life saver when you're out their and need coffee. I'm happy that the EverSafe M.R.E. comes with this coffee even if I normally drink better stuff.

EverSafe M.R.E. Peanut Butter

EverSafe M.R.E. Peanut Butter is peanut butter with death added. If you don't know what I mean let me show you.

If you can't see this has Hydrogenated oil in it and as the human body can't process that kind of oil(as it's not found in nature) it tends to clog your arteries. The good news is that the U.S. government is on it's way to banning that death fat all together and making this product illegal. Until that happens look before you put it in your mouth!

Sterling Foods Wheat Snack Bread

Sterling Foods Wheat Snack Bread is a general let down in any M.R.E. even the EverSafe civilian kind. I find these to be only worth eating if you're honestly hungry which is a plus for a fat fellow like me. They often, but not always, come with some kind of stuff to spread over them.

I have to say I don't like wheat snack bread but if your out trying to stay alive I guess this is okay.
