Humanitarian Daily Ration Vegetable Barley Stew is something that came in a number of Humanitarian MRE's and is designed to be unoffensive to anyone who is hungry. It's more of a goulash than a stew having less water than stew.
The definition of vegetables is also a little off, but as most people think potatoes are a vegetable, they're a tuber, the whole thing isn't that bad.
I'll admit that after eating this I wanted more. It's not bad. I mean, not great, but not bad. We are feeding the hungry with something that people would eat.
