Samuel Adams Pale Ale

Samuel Adams Pale Ale is a thick headed ale with overpowering floral notes. The bitter flavor is best for winter drinking as this is just not a beer you take deep swigs of. Now I'm starting to see why I found it in a hotel hallway. 

Bass Pale Ale

There is nothing pale about this Bass Pale Ale, but it's a heavy thick beer for sipping in the colder months or just shooting the breeze with a friend. This isn't the kind of beer you swig because of the bitterness that comes along with it.

I drink this stuff and feel like swapping sad stories with old men and having a ham sandwich at the pub. Good times. 

Pure Order Brewing Co. Santa Barbera Pale Ale

As a man known for his live of pale ale I have to ask if I got a bad bottle of this beer. Not that it was bad, but simply that it was not good and, like the last sample I got from this brewing company, there was stuff at the bottom of the bottle.

It makes me sad to look at a California Brew and give it a poor review. I mean it really hurts to know that this stuff simply isn't great beer.

I would say that it's passable, better than the last one I tried, but I wouldn't buy it again. 

Come on, folks, you're making my home state look bad!

Green Flash 30th Street Pale Ale

Green Flash's '30th Street Pale Ale' is a love letter to the San Diego Beer district on 30th  Street. Some have called San Diego 30th Street the 'new beer capital of the US' so it is only fitting that there is a beer named after the micro brewing community. 

Now '30th Street' is a bitter beer with a strange flowery flavor that makes it one that should be tried for every bitter beer drinker. This is not to say that this beer is good. In fact, both my brother and I disliked it as we dislike bitter beer. Still, 30th Street has so different a flavor that you can't tell if you like it unless you try it and see.

It boasts of three kinds of hops and reminds me of the smell of water that has been in a flower vase. 

Butte Creek Brewing Organic Pale Ale

Butte Creek Brewing Organic Pale Ale is a 5.5% alcohol by volume ale that ranges on the bitter side and packs something of a punch for beer.

I have to say it was overly bitter for a pale ale and otherwise unremarkable. In other words, this is a beer drinkers brew for those who want to keep the buzz going on those lonely nights when you think about how the summer will end soon or how much more you loved summer when you couldn't by alcohol. I wouldn't buy it again, but I wouldn't turn it down at a party.

Grand Teton Brewing Co. Sweetgrass American Pale Ale APA

Sweetgrass was not Sweet, It was kind of bitter which makes me sad knowing it's an American brew. The name took me back to a time in my youth when I remember being happy.

The flavor washed all that away and left the bitter aftertaste of old age which made me not want to finish my beer. 

To be fair the brew date was more than four months from the drink date and I may have gotten a bad bottle, but I would have liked this to live up to its name.
