Banquet Backyard Bbq Frozen Meal

Banquet is kind of the budget frozen dinner company I think and their Backyard Bbq Frozen Meal has the odd smell of cigarettes. I don’t know why but that’s what the smell of it reminds me of.

 

Anyway, I added raw carrots to this meal to flesh it out because these things are two small for me. I could eat three of them in one sitting but then I’m a big fat dude so you would expect that of me.

 

I could cut the “meat” with a carrot the way I slice them.

 

The big thing about these frozen “meals” is that they look like what food looked like back in 1969 when we didn’t know nutrition.  

 

Banquet Fish Sticks with Mac & Cheese and Pudding

 You look at the box of these Banquet Fish Sticks with Mac & Cheese and Pudding and think that those are normal sized fish sticks all be it low in quality. You eat them and find out that they are small and sad little limp noodles and you can eat them but feel bad about yourself for doing so. 

In a world where you're a big fat dude on the internet eating just to keep working and don't have time to cook these may feel like an option. If they are have them with a multivitamin, because they are vary poorly rounded meals.  

On the one hand, if I had more I would eat them so that I can get back to my work. On the other hand, these are so bad for me that I think you could kill me if you gave me enough of them. 

Banquet Zesty Marinara Sauce Over Meatballs

Banquet Zesty Marinara Sauce Over Meatballs is honestly more Italian inspired than one would thing. Meatballs were originally served as their own dish in sauce. 

The almost Marinara sauce in this would make my grandmother smack me across the face were I to call it food. Then again, she would have called herself a Sicilian and not an Italian. I don't know why that is, because I never knew grandma well. 

Anyway, the sauce taste like almost nothing and the meatballs are full of things that are not meat, but if you don't like cooking this is an easy way to get food ton the table. 

I can complain about these all I want but that doesn't change the fact that I got three of them and ate them all. 
 

Banquet Mega Meats Original Classic Boneless Chicken Strips & Spicy Mac & Cheese

Banquet Mega Meats Original Classic Boneless Chicken Strips & Spicy Mac & Cheese, try saying that three times fast, is not a common thing to find in your freezer section. This is because it has no flavor and sounds so much better than it is. 

If you're going to drop some hot sauce on these or put them in an air fryer to get a crunch out of them they would be good. As they are they are passable and food for sad men like me who don't feel like cooking. 

Eat too many of these and you'll be constipated. Past that, I would probably get them again.
 

Banquet Mega Meals Salisbury Steak Frozen Dinner

 Banquet Mega Meals Salisbury Steak Frozen Dinner is a lot of low quality meat. I wouldn't call it good so much as I would call it unoffensive. I don't know why meat of this poor quality is still a thing given that we have alternatives. 

I would say if your hitting the gym like its been talking about your mom then this is a good meal. If you haven't then you should eat something with balance.  

Banquet Mega Meals Country Fried Chicken

Banquet Mega Meals Country Fried Chicken is more country slime chicken. This is not fried, but there is slime on it that may have been breading, but is really just slime. 

The chicken itself isn't bad, but the slime leaves much to be desired. The noodles aren't bad. I mean, they could be better but aren't that bad. 

This is a sad shadow of the food it should be and will leave you wanting. It isn't all that filling and I could probably eat two of these. Then again I can eat a twenty piece nugget thing from the golden arches and almost get down a large french fries without any trouble.

These mega meals are for people who work hard at the gym and don't want something big in the toilet when their done. They don't stand up well as food but they work okay as filler in the sad lives we all live suffering from terminal loneliness clinging to the American Dream that has long since died. 
 

Banquet Mega Pizza Slices Double Stuffed

 Banquet Mega Pizza Slices Double Stuffed needs more stuffing. Not that it's bad, but more that it's not great. It is better than a number of small frozen pizzas I've had but it isn't that much better. 

If you really like pizza, and I do, I think you should try this, but don't expect it to wow you.

Banquet Turkey Meal

 Banquet Turkey Meal is something you eat when you want to pretend that your having thanksgiving dinner. It has all the elements save cranberry sauce. You can get these for a dollar at the local market by my house, and they have them by the truckload. 

I mean, they aren't good but aren't bad. If what you want is mashed potatoes and gravy these are fine, but the turkey is a bit lack luster. The stuffing is bland. 

I can see so many Americans eating this as they contemplate their lives and the epidemic of loneliness that plagues our country. Try to cry on the peas, it will make them taste better but the rest of it has enough salt. 

Anyway, these are okay, fine for a dinner at work if you work alone or eat alone at work. Not so much to be thankful for but, hey, you're alive.

Banquet Frozen Mega Meats Garlic Parmesan Boneless Chicken Strips

 Banquet Frozen Mega Meats Garlic Parmesan Boneless Chicken Strips should not be allowed to call itself meat of any kind. I know that stuff is made from chicken but meat is still a stretch. 

I added the peas.

Anyway, this is a sad flavorless meal that needs to have the suck nuked out of it to be edible. I can't taste the garlic, and I can see no Parmesan. 

If you're eating this you should think about your life because it is very sad.

Banquet Chicken Fingers with Mac & Cheese

 Stretching the boundaries of what should be called chicken, Banquet Chicken Fingers with Mac & Cheese is small sad and hard to make. There is a good deal more to this than drop it in the microwave and hit start. 

Then I should point out that this meal is very small. I mean, maybe it would work for a five year old. It does get points for being one serving of protein and one serving of starch. If you just add three servings of vegetables as I have you may have a good meal.  

That is assuming a good meal can have flavorless mac & cheese with chicken flavored spongy stuff. I mean, back in the day I used to get these chicken patties that everyone called "Richard's prosthetic chicken" and you had to cook the heck out of them to make them good. These things make McNuggets  taste real. 

The up side is that I got these at The Dollar Tree, and they were only like a buck twenty five. 

Banquet Chicken Strips Meal

 Banquet Chicken Strips Meal has some of the most 'not chicken' I've ever tasted. I mean, I think it was chicken paste at some point which is not at all what it looks like on the box. 

This is food for the poor sad and lonely and more or less something they would feed to the children that they didn't want. I ate a lot of these sorts of things when I was a kid and I paid for it in constipation. 

My mother, lord rest her, was not much of a cook even if she tried very hard to be a good one. 

For a grown human, I would say you need to add some vegetables to this or it just won't fill you up. Now, that could be because I'm an all consuming blob or it could be because these just aren't enough for a grown man.

Banquet Family Size Homestyle Gravy & Sliced White Meat Turkey

Banquet Family Size Homestyle Gravy & Sliced White Meat Turkey is the kind of thing you buy and plan to have with other stuff. The gravy is a good thing, I guess, but that really means you need to have it with mashed potatoes.

The meat is low quality and there isn't that much of it for the size of the pack. As you can see it's sliced like cold cuts and small for a normal cut at that. 

All and all, I wouldn't go getting this again, but it tasted okay. 
 

Banquet Chicken Fried Chicken Meal

 Banquet Chicken Fried Chicken Meal almost tastes like food. It does not taste like food but it is near enough to food that if you are hungry it will food enough. 

The 'chicken' has a not chick like nature to it that only comes from processing and the grave is too thin and lacking in sausage. Of all the Banquet meals this one does not make me sick. That is a low bar, but if you can food it food it and don't be hungry.

 Banquet Cheesy Patty with Mashed Potatoes looks like a new take on Salisbury Steak. It's bad for you but, well, tastes okay. I've come to expect almost nothing from Banquet at this point and still I keep buying more of their products. 

Maybe this is because I have a blog where I review things and these are inexpensive, fast, and easy to photograph.

Banquet Bone-In Wings Hot & Spicy

Banquet Bone-In Wings Hot & Spicy are about as hot and spicy as a common spoon. This is not to say that they are bad. I mean, I would cook them for longer than the box says. 

Still, the breading comes right off and the insides don't get evenly hot. So, yeah, if you would cook these longer than the box says. That and you only get six of these...or five. Some times you get five.  

All and all, like weed, um, I mean, Pizza and Sex, when wings are bad they're still good. 

Banquet Popcorn Chicken

Few things in my life have been as much of an outright disappointment as Banquet Popcorn Chicken. I cooked this stuff three times as long as the pack says and it still will not crisp up. Stale tasting and soft these little buggers are something to put your dip on and little more. 

I mean, I'm a big fat guy, to us popcorn chicken is like little balls of happiness. These are just sad.

Banquet Mega Deep Dish Bacon Mac 'N Cheese

Banquet Mega Deep Dish Bacon Mac 'N Cheese is like the chicken only with less flavor. I mean, these have too little bacon for the bacon to bacon and so you're left with a Mac 'N Cheese pie.

Ask yourself if you want a Mac 'N Cheese pie and after you say yes you should try one of these. They honestly come out better after you microwave them. 

Banquet Mega Deep Dish Buffalo- Style Chicken Mac 'N Cheese

Banquet Mega Deep Dish Buffalo- Style Chicken Mac 'N Cheese is a long name. I hate long names like that because then I have to write them out and you're like "why did they name it like this".

The holiday is canceled and you're sitting on your horde of TP waiting for the men in plastic to tell you that the world is ending so you may just find a few of these still in the freezer section. 

Aside from taking so very long to cook these are good, but you don't really taste the buffalo. It's like some buffalo sauce got dropped in there but not enough for you to really get a flavor of it. 

Past that, not enough chicken, great food to sit at your computer and be depressed about.
