Jack in the Box Bonus Jack

At Jack in the Box the Bonus Jack was made to compete with the Big Mac and it really has changed over the years. Somewhere along the way it lost a patty and some bread and now all it is is a cheeseburger with pickles, lettuce, and Bonus Jack sauce. 

I don't think it was great to start with, not that I've ever had one before, but it's not great now. 

Kellogg's Charlie Brown Great Pumpkin Cereal

 I ran across this Kellogg's Charlie Brown Great Pumpkin Cereal last year at the discount market and I can say it was there  for a reason. tasted like Styrofoam. 

I'm not a big cereal guy because I can't have too much sugar and breakfast cereal is something you eat if you're too lazy to cook. Further down that road, I can always find a new sausage to try at my local market (um, that came out wrong). That makes pre-sweetened breakfast cereal something I give to the birds. 

With this crud I don't know if the birds would forgive me for feeding it to them. I'd mix it with seeds for sure but I think they'd just pick the seeds out and move on.

They say it tastes like vanilla. They're wrong!

 

Feastables MrBeast Bar Milk Chocolate

The Milk Chocolate MrBeast Bar by Feastables is a slightly bitter European style chocolate that would match best with wine or unsweetened coffee. I was really surprised to find these in the discount bin after Halloween last year, but there they were.

This isn’t so much of a kid’s candy. It has the more refined notes of a fine chocolate. With only five ingredients this is something of a simple yet higher end treat.  Children who just want candy may not put the thought in to understanding these bars but wind drinking fat dudes like me understand them.

 

Warheads Extreme Sour Candy Lemon

Warheads Extreme Sour Candy Lemon reminded me of a lemon drop once I got past the sour that nearly made me spit the thing out. I mean, why do they hit that hard at first? Is this what Extreme Sour means?

Anyway, I used to love lemon drops when I was a kid and so I admit that I liked the flavor of this, but I wouldn’t want to fight past the sour again. It’s just not for me.

 

MTN Dew VooDew 2024

 MTN Dew VooDew 2024 is so a mystery flavor that it disappeared when I had it with ice. I think it's tangerine, but I have to say it's almost nothing. 

This is sugar water at its most disappointing. Give it a pass. 

Warheads Colossal Sours Candy Green Apple

The idea of the Warheads Colossal Sour Candy Green Apple is lost on Me. The sour flavor makes me want to wash it down, and where as I don’t find it unpleasant washing it down makes it over too fast. The fast burst of flavor is a spark in the night to be seen at distance and never understood.

I can’t figure why I would eat candy that has so short a time in my mouth but maybe I’m eating them wrong. I don’t know.

They taste fine, but the whole experience is over too quickly.

 

Jack in the Box Mummy Wrapped Monster Taco

 Over at Jack in the Box they now have the Mummy Wrapped Monster Taco. This is that normal Monster Taco with its bean filling and taco sauce with a flour tortilla filled with cheese like sauce and bacon bits stuck on the outside. 

This is hardly a wrap, but defines a wrap anyway? 

For Jack in the Box this is passable. I wouldn't call it better than a Monster Taco. It's low quality ingredients added to a low quality offering at a place that serves the low end of fast food. It's worth trying if you want to try something new but don't think you'll miss it when it's gone.

Kellogg's Frosted Flakes Pumpkin Spice

 

Kicking off the fall season, Kellogg's Frosted Flakes Pumpkin Spice are my first disappointment. Not that these are bad, but more that they just aren't as good as normal Frosted Flakes and so are just there to be festive. There is some spice in them but not enough to be more than the flavor of cinnamon. 

If you really wanted to make this work it would be to lightly blend some pumpkin spice into milk then add it to normal frosted flakes.  

Give these a pass.
