McDonald’s Sweet N’ Sour Sauce

I have a rule that if I reviewed something ten years ago then I can review it again. McDonald’s Sweet N’ Sour Sauce is one of those things that I reviewed more than ten years ago and it hasn’t changed a bit. It’s still my go to when eating chicken like nuggets at the golden arches.

I shouldn’t be eating so much fast food, and I shouldn’t be eating this slime, but it kills me so good.

 

McDonald’s Spicy Buffalo Sauce

I’m not a big fan of buffalo sauce, I should make that clear off the bat, but I wanted to try something new and this McDonald’s Spicy Buffalo Sauce was new to me. It tastes like Buffalo sauce with a little less of an edge. I would not call it spicy at all. Why would you call it spicy if it’s just normal buffalo sauce I couldn’t tell you , but it’s not spicy at all.

I don’t have a problem with this save for there being nothing at McDonald’s that it really fits with. I mean, just why?

McDonald’s Honey Mustard Sauce

When I said I wanted to try all the sauces that they have at McDonald’s I knew they had Honey Mustered, but now I think they really should stop saying that they do. There wasn’t much flavor to this honey mustard and it didn’t stick to my nuggets all that well.

I’m not saying this is bad, but it really has little in the way of flavor. This could use more of everything flavor wise and isn’t all that great. It’s not bad, just not good.

McDonald’s Tangy Barbeque Sauce

 I almost always get the same sauce at the golden arches, and this isn’t it. One of the reasons I started this blog was because I always get the same thing, and I needed to change that. So, here I’m trying the Tangy BBQ Sauce at McDonald’s. I’ve had it before, didn’t think much of it, and here it is again.

This is a sweeter BBQ as opposed to the more savory variety. It’s okay. I mean, I wouldn’t switch over, and this doesn’t taste like tang at all. I would have expected tang to taste like orange or maybe mango, but here it is tasting mostly of brown sugar.

McDonald’s WcDonald’s Sauce

 Sweet and hot WcDonald’s Sauce is something I would never eat. It also has that smell that can’t be put in the refrigerator. This is that stinky food you should never eat at work. People have to work with you, dude, have some respect.

Anyway, I hat two nuggets with this and then tossed it into the trash outside of the office, so I didn’t have to smell it all night. Stuff was okay but not worth the stink.

Colonna Roasted Garlic Sauce

Colonna Roasted Garlic Sauce is a smooth modern sauce that could use more garlic and has soybean oil in it. I mean, there's nothing wrong with that but it's not very Italian. 

I would classify this a serviceable and unoffensive. If you have people who don't like big chunks of tomato then this is a great thing to have around. It's on the thin side which is not necessarily a bad thing. 

Frankly, flavor wise I'd have to add something to this to make it a bit more there. Otherwise, it does the job but nothing more.
 

Heinz Honeyracha Sauce

I thought this Heinz Honeyracha Sauce was ketchup. I have to say where as I like this stuff I can't say what one would put it on. This is hot, but not very hot, and sweet. 

If you're a big chicken finger fan than this stuff is good to have around, and I have to say it works. It's still not ketchup so you may be upset if you reach for this expecting ketchup, but then when has food last surprised you?
 

Colonna Traditional Sauce

 Colonna Traditional Sauce is smooth and unoffensive, really what I like my pasta sauce to be like, it has no large chunks. One may argue that it has little flavor for Italian anything. This is true, this stuff is flavorless American food, but if you cook like me and like to add sausage to your noodles this is the right thing to do it with. 

I mark this a buy, but I don't want to look at the label and see what's in it. Scratch that, I just looked at the label and it had too much salt..but what doesn't?

Prego Creamy Cheddar Cheese Sauce

 Prego Creamy Cheddar Cheese Sauce is a mild cheddar sauce which makes little impact on your noodles over any other sauce you buy. The three or four cheese sauces will have a little more of a flavor.

In short, this is creamy thick and bland with an off putting color and makes us ask why we are putting it on our pasta. It's fine, not great, but fine.

Prego Farmers' Market White Bean & Roasted Garlic Sauce

 Prego Farmers' Market White Bean & Roasted Garlic Sauce is one of those things you have to have fresh and heat all the way through to enjoy. Other wise the beans get too hard and the garlic gets overpowering. 

I had it as is and with sausage, and the sausage really made the meal. I think this is worth trying, but not it's going to satisfy everyone.  

Prego Bacon Flavored Alfredo Sauce

Prego Bacon Flavored Alfredo Sauce is disappointing even for something that is just flavored. Bacon Alfredo sounds awesome. It's really too bad that this not Bacon Alfredo. It is Alfredo. I don't taste bacon, I don't feel bacon, I don't even smell bacon.   

If you want the real deal make some bacon and add it to Alfredo, and leave this stuff on the shelf, because it will let you down. 

Jack in the Box Sweet & Sour Sauce

Tasting of mango Jack in the Box Sweet & Sour Sauce is, well, edible. I can say this stuff was better then the chicken on it's own but not by much. It's not as good as the golden arches version. 

McDonald's Sweet 'N Sour sauce

Let's be clear, this stuff is salt and sugar for the most part and bad for you. Sauce, in general, is bad for you. 

In any case, I have always loved this flavor of sauce, but if you drink your soda after eating this sauce you will not taste the corn syrup in your drink.

If you're eating this you're doing something bad for you so eat accordingly
