As you can see Onion Rings at RC Burgers in South Gate are the flaky kind. Everyone like their onion rings a little different. Me, I like them best where the onion is part of the ring and so cannot be separated.
If you likes most onion rings these are a winner for you. Me, I've had better.
I had a job out in South Gate and decided to stop at RC Burgers to get some local color. I saw this shrimp basket and figured it was a good deal. What I did not know was that it was a fried tour de force of the offerings of the restaurant featuring fries, zucchini, and onion rings. Just looking at it makes me want to go back and get more.
If you stop by the 'Pioneer Cafe' in Glendale you may order some onion rings as a side or appetizer. These things are rather good and have something of a doughnut like quality. As onion rings go these really stand out.
The thing about Art's Burgers in El Monte California on Valley Blvd is that they sell out of onion rings and I can see why. These rings are made with sweet onions and were as I normally hate onion rings I really liked these.
This is not to say that they are not improved with salsa or dipping sauce, but as onion rings go they are second to the best I've ever had.
The best rings I've ever had are at Maggie's Pub in Santa Fe Springs
Once again I'm subjected to onion rings and I don't like onions. Claim Jumper's "Hand-battered Onion Rings" are of the more tolerable variety. Half the rings I had didn't separate from the batter and the other half did leaving me with a mouthful of onion.
Good onion rings don't come away from the onion and when these don't come away they are very good but when they do they are disappointing.
Burger King 'Onion Rings' are as flavorless as onion rings can be and still be made of onion but still are some solid rings. The onions stay in the breading. I hate onion and yet I review rings from every restaurant I go to that has them, and I can say these are good for the money.
They are no were close to Maggie's Pub, but these are okay.
'The Old Ship' in Fullerton has some great onion rings. I still think that Maggies Pub has better rings but these were some solid rings that got the job done.
Looking like some kind of crusty dinosaur turd this is not a pile of onion rings but a thing that will not come apart. I don't like food I have to fight with and I don't like onion rings so this was a clear no for me. My brother liked it but I don't want to eat something he had his hands all over.
Great if you want a big onion poop, bad if you don't like other people touching your food.
These are the best onion rings I have ever had. They stay on the onion, are flaky and crunch, and the crispness goes all the way to the core. I have never had an onion ring I liked before these; they kill me so good.
I guess these are big for onion rings but their appeal ends there. These are bland and flavorless onion rings better left to those who want a lot of food with very little flavor.
Well, the breading didn't stick to the onion rings, but the other stuff was okay. I can't say this was very good but for something that will clog your gut it was sub par.
Not being a big fan of Onion Rings to begin with I only ordered these to review them. That said the breading comes away from the onion. Other than that they are just normal onion rings without anything big to say about them. Restaurant food is on the boring side I guess.
