Why Firehouse Subs calls this a 'Firehouse Hero' I don't know. I still don't know what a hero sandwich is but as this doesn't have a flashy costume and isn't saving the day I still have to look for the hero part.
This is a good sandwich with the dominant flavor being turkey. If you like turkey then this will be your deal. I only ordered it because I need to order everything they sell so I can review it. I ate this for you. Don't you feel special?
Do not point out that I look like I eat ten of these a day. I'm depressed, it makes you gain weight.
Firehouse Subs has Brownies. These are the kind of brownies that have a flaky top. I mean, they taste like brownies. What can I really say about them?
Firehouse Subs Smokehouse Beef and Cheddar Brisket Sub has one of those long names that is so annoying that it almost negates the goodness of this sandwich.
Well, other than the fact that the sandwich will drip all over the place it's totally kicking. I will order this again, but it can use more cheese.
With a Firehouse sub in front of you it's easy to forget about that Pickle Spear. Well, don't because it's there for good reason.
It's a palate cleanser that permits you to better taste that sandwich. take a bite every now and then. It will make your whole meal better.
As you can see the Firehouse Subs Firehouse Steak and Cheese Sub has what passes for stake in the lunch meat department but has far too little cheese. These things normally come with bell peppers and onions which I don't care for.
Now this sub was okay, not great, but okay.
If you want to really make one of these you need to grill the steak, and that didn't happen here.
The 'Firehouse Hero' is a beefy thing with roast beef, smoked turkey(not like the turkeys running this country), Virginia Honey ham, and Provolone cheese. You definitely don't want anti-Volone cheese do you? I mean, we're all about the Volone now days.
Anyway, I have to say this is a lot of sandwich and a good classic combination. I will get this again.
Firehouse Subs Cherry Lime-Aid is a blood colored substance you can get from the soda fountain at Firehouse Subs. It's some funny dark stuff and drinking it was a new experience. I can't say it wowed me but I will say that it was a change from the humdrum of normal sodas and a welcome change at that.
I feel like I've reviewed this before. Well, every sandwich is it's own sandwich and you really should have more than one to get a good feel for what it's like. Don't feel your sandwich. That would be weird.
I have never thought much of this sandwich but I just keep ordering it so it must be good. Or I'm crazy...you decide for yourself.
Firehouse Subs Salad is one of those things you go out and get because you know that Subway is less calories. Well, this is one of those salads that you better really like because the bell peppers are diced to small to pick out and that cheese is, um, more like stuff.
I have to say that this salad is not for me. I mean, I knew I had to try it but this salad is particularly bad in terms of saladness. If you like bell peppers try this, but if you don't then give it a pass.
Firehouse Subs Chili is an unimpressive vegetable stew. It's not the sad glop you get at other restaurants but you need to like celery to eat this stuff. I mean, I didn't dislike it but I didn't like it and I wouldn't get it again.
"Smoked turkey breast, Virginia honey ham, and melted Monterrey Jack, served Fully Involved" is what you get with a Firehouse Subs Hook and Ladder.
Um, "Fully Involved" means with normal vegetables and there is a list of them at the counter so you can say no onions if you want.
In any case, the Hook and Ladder is a good sandwich and I'll call it filling. The Virginia honey ham is mild and the chicken is dominant over all other flavors.
I can't say this will be my go to but then I need to try all the sandwiches that wont make me sick so I would get this again.
Firehouse Subs Smokehouse Beef & Cheddar Brisket is a lot of sandwich. Would I say it knocked my socks off? No. I'd say this was good but not totally great. It would have been better if the meat was grilled some.
This thing is 890 calories so less than a lot of fast food meals but still hefty. I like this better than the meatball. It could be better, but it's still very good.
Firehouse Subs Firehouse Meatball is bigger and meatier than the subway version. I can't say that it's as good because the one I had the meatballs were cold in the middle. I will say that it was more filling, but as it comes with a bigger price tag I think it's all about the same in the end.
