I ran into these Oyster Mushrooms from Guan's Mushroom Co. and you know I had to try them. I did eat the firm part of the base which is considered poor eating but not inedible.
I can say that these are a welcome change from my normal mushroom, but they will never replace the common shiitake. The verity of textures give this mushroom a changing mouth feel that makes them something worth trying.
I would buy these again, but then I love mushrooms.
