Hard Frescos Beer Guava Citrus

If Hard Frescos Guava Citrus is really a beer it is beer by a thin definition. The Guava is more pronounced than the citrus giving it a funk and after taste that makes it, well, meh.

I don't mind this stuff. I mean, if you're a hard drinker this is smooth and goes down easy but it isn't what I would drink for taste. It is refreshing and not bitter but still not great.

Naturdays Natural Light Strawberry Lemonade Beer

Naturdays Natural Light Strawberry Lemonade is beer, but only just. I don't think I can get drunk off the stuff. I can drink it all day and not get all that drunk.

Past that, this is a great beer for millennials who are still very much in their sugar faze and still want everything to be sweet. It's not a wine cooler but it's close. Not bad drinking, but not the best I've had.

Man Cave Craft Eats: Bacon, Beer & Cheddar Cheese Bratwursts

Man Cave makes some great Bratwurst, but you need to be ready for these Bacon, Beer & Cheddar Cheese variety with some more beer to cut the fat. I mean, these are the heaviest bratwurst I've ever eaten.

I never did care for cheese in sausage because it takes longer to cook. The bacon aspect is sum what lost as well given that you can't crisp bacon in a sausage.

If you want something different this will fit the bill, but I have had better things by Man Cave.

Founders Breakfast Stout

Founders Breakfast Stout is a dark rich beer with oatmeal, coffee, and chocolate to thicken and deepen its brew. This is a bitter sipping beer with a heavy feel and a long lasting, but less then perfect head.

I would recommend it but it's on the pricey side. This is a solid dark stout. I've had better, but this one isn't bad.

Guinness Drought Stout

You look at the white bottle and bird on this Guinness Drought Stout and think of summer. Little did I know that it was just normal Guinness in a different bottle. This beer will give you a mild cooling feeling in the back of your throat that will feel great in the hot early fall, and somehow it lacks the smoothness of normal Guinness and adds a bitterness that reminds me of sad stories.

Guinness Drought Stout in the white bottle tasted different from normal Guinness to my brother who is a big Guinness drinker so I think this stuff was older than it should have been or the bottle lets in more light.

I mean, it's just crazy how the same thing can taste so different.

Corona Extra

Corona Extra is one way of beating the summer heat provided you have lime to make it taste like something other than piss.

I'm told that lime will take the piss flavor out of real piss, but have never been bold enough to try.

We probably shouldn't by beer that tastes like piss to start with but I needed to try Corona. On the up side I never tried it without the lime and have no idea if it really tastes like piss.

Rockdale Light

Rockdale Light lives up to it's name by being so light you hardly know you're drinking beer. I think I know folks who could drink this all day and never get drunk. Folks like me for example.

I have to be honest, I got this to make my fish taste better and it works really well for that, but it's beer for those who don't want beer.

The taste is unoffensive and the calories are less than soda. Drink accordingly.

Red Hook Extra Special Bitter Ale

Red Hook "Extra Special Bitter Ale" is a bitter beer for those who like bitter things. I would say it's a sipping beer for drinking in cold weather and so far my least liked Red Hook. I only tried this because Red Hook brewed the stuff, and I have always had good experiences with that brewery.

I'd say if you like bitter beer you will like this and if you're not a bitter drinker steer clear.

Bison Organic Honey Basil

Bison Organic Honey Basil is one of those hippy beers that make you feel better for drinking them. Well, is this beer worth drinking?

Meh, I didn't taste any honey or basil when drinking this beer, and the flavor was on the bitter side. Not to say that it was undrinkable, but this is a bitter beer that you drink in cold weather because this is for sipping.

On the other hand, it had a nice head to it, and the color was very pleasing. I'm not adding this to my buy list, but I'm not telling you not to drink it either.

Heineken

Heineken is okay beer. I get it for cooking my fish. It will take the fishy taste right out of it and make the fish taste fresh. Past that I feel it's on the bitter side but has a great head on the draft.

Magic Hat Wilhelm Scream

Magic Hat Wilhelm Scream is a pumpkin ale and if you like that kind of thing you're in luck because it's very much what it is and nothing more. I can't recommend this ale because every other Magic Hat I have had has been better.

That is not to say that this was bad, it was only a very good what it is in a list of things I generally don't care much for. If you like the taste of pumpkin, but not pumpkin spice, then this is your drink.

Redd's Apple Ale

I found Redd's Apple Ale to be a solid drinking ale good for both sipping and deep drafting but it lacked the strong head one would associate with ale.

If you're looking for a cider I would say this is better than Smith and Forge. This stuff is a clean drink and worth trying.

Magic Hat #9

Now, Magic hat # 9 is a light beer and that is why I was so confused when my brother got some for us to try. Me, I think this 'not quite Pale Ale' is just fine. I wouldn't call it earth shaking, but I'd say this is a great beer for light beer drinkers.

My brother didn't care for it because it was light beer but said it was otherwise okay. Moral of the story, by beer you like.

Fat Weasel Ale

Fat Weasel Ale has been a favorite of mine for some time now. I used to make a point of giving them to new guards at my work back in the day. People who be a little less interested in me doing that now.

I think the beer has gone down hill in the last few years and doesn't have the fresh flavor I remember. Still is a good buy and brewed in my home California.

Saranac Pumpkin Ale

Saranac Pumpkin Ale is a middle of the road beer that does much better than many of its pumpkin relatives.

I wouldn't say that I would buy it on the regular but I will say that I enjoined it and so did the two other people who tried it with me.

The screw cap was a nice touch so no bottle opener needed and otherwise this was a rich smooth ale.

Schofferhofer Grapefruit

3.2% alcohol by volume and sold in 11.5 oz bottles Schofferhofer Grapefruit looks like a bad idea. This is a weak beer for summer thirst quenching when your going to be working out or swimming and you don't want to get drunk. A beer for mass drinking if you will. It tastes like wine cooler. I grand that I liked this beer and may consider buying it again but just be clear that if you're drinking for a buzz this stuff will do nothing for you. If your goal is to drink and not get drunk then this stuff is top notch.

Butte Creek Brewing Organic Pale Ale

Butte Creek Brewing Organic Pale Ale is a 5.5% alcohol by volume ale that ranges on the bitter side and packs something of a punch for beer.

I have to say it was overly bitter for a pale ale and otherwise unremarkable. In other words, this is a beer drinkers brew for those who want to keep the buzz going on those lonely nights when you think about how the summer will end soon or how much more you loved summer when you couldn't by alcohol. I wouldn't buy it again, but I wouldn't turn it down at a party.

Grand Teton Brewing Co. Sweetgrass American Pale Ale APA

Sweetgrass was not Sweet, It was kind of bitter which makes me sad knowing it's an American brew. The name took me back to a time in my youth when I remember being happy.

The flavor washed all that away and left the bitter aftertaste of old age which made me not want to finish my beer.

To be fair the brew date was more than four months from the drink date and I may have gotten a bad bottle, but I would have liked this to live up to its name.

Mission St. India Pale Ale

This is a smooth slightly bitter beer with a golden look and strong head. I think you have to be into that kind of thing to drink this beer.

I'm not a big drinker by any means so remember that fact. Still, it does kind of look like pee.

UberMonster Energy Brew

This is a Monster Energy Drink that wants to be like beer. It wants to but is nothing like beer, or at least beer I have drunk.

It tastes like flat Monster. I mean, I would buy it again because I paid less for it than other Monsters.
