Boston Market Salisbury Steak

If Dr. Salisbury could see this version of his meal he would roll over in his grave. This Boston Market Salisbury Steak starts as a D grade meal to me because it's got nothing but protein and simple starch, but when you read the nutritional facts it just gets worse.

I hope a lot of that salt is in the gravy that you don't end up eating.

Anyway, it tastes okay. It's not good for Salisbury stake and it's hard to eat with only a fork. I managed, but part of these frozen meals in convenience and knife free is always a plus.

What can I really say here? These things are bad for me, I know it, and I eat them anyway. They taste okay, but I've had better.

Boston Market Chicken, Broccoli & Cheese Casserole

Do you see broccoli in this Boston Market Chicken, Broccoli & Cheese Casserole? There isn't enough broccoli in this to call it a broccoli casserole. There could be more chicken but the broccoli should be the main feature.

This was cheese and rice. I would say that it was edible. I didn't want to spit it out or leave it on the plate but it needed more broccoli. I save the healthy meals for January given that everyone is trying to get healthy but this isn't healthy.

If you wanted to make this healthy you would need to add a good deal more vegetables. Frozen food is often bad for you and the fact that there are vegetables make this better for you but only just.

Boston Market Home Style Meals Chicken Parmesan

Boston Market Home Style Meals Chicken Parmesan as some very thin chicken. I wish I knew this chicken's secret to being that slender without buckling under your own weight. The chicken comes as a slice and looks like something that should be in a sandwich rather than as this meal.

I mean, I'm not kidding, that was one thin bit of chicken. Anyway, this was otherwise okay. Yeah, you really need to stir the noodles. If you don't they will still be cold in the middle.

Past that, I just wanted more chicken.

Boston Market Beef Steak & Pasta

Boston Market Beef Steak & Pasta was the worst of the Home Style Meals I've had. Mostly the onions bothered me, but the meat wasn't good quality and the meat is poorly balanced to start with.

This is one of those foods that looks great but really isn't very good. Remember that if you do eat it you will need some kind of fiber. I eat these for lunch at work so I'd need to bring raw vegetables or fruit.

Boston Market Home Style Meals Beef Pot Roast

Boston Market Beef Pot Roast has onions that add nothing to the flavor. It has vegetables, I guess it has enough of those but there could be more. I could have used some peas in with the green beans as well.

There was a good amount of mashed potatoes. I mean, they just kept on giving with those things, but they skimped on the pot roast.  You would think with pot roast big name there it would have more roast. They should have called this mashed potatoes with some roast and vegetables.

Boston Market Sweet & Sour Chicken

Disturbingly missing from this Boston Market Sweet & Sour Chicken is most of the chicken. It feels like someone ate most of the chicken and left you all the little ones that were to small to fork.

I mean, it's kind of like getting orange chicken with that one girl you used to date who never wanted to order anything but ate most of your food.

To be fair, this tastes all right and is very much what I would have expected flavor wise but it's still mostly rice and not enough chicken.

Boston Market Home Style Meals Meatloaf

Boston Market Home Style Meals Meatloaf with Mashed Potatoes & Traditional Brown Gravy has a name so long I'm just not putting it in the title. I mean, that's going to look bad on my blog.

Anyway, this isn't bad. It takes longer to cook than most of the Home Style line but where as it is not like my own meatloaf it is not bad. Meatloaf can be hard to pull off and this is okay, I wouldn't call it great, but it's above average.

Boston Market Meat Lovers Meatball

There is meat in the sauce of this Boston Market Meat Lovers Meatball. Meat Lovers tends to imply a dish that has a good amount of meat and is very salty or a person who, um, well, fill in the rest yourself. I'm told both are rather salty, but I wouldn't know.

I wouldn't say there is enough meat here to live up to the name and the soft spongy meatballs didn't help. I found nothing to dislike about this meal, but nothing to make it something to recommend.

It wasn't bad, it was just okay.

Boston Market Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo

Boston Market's Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo has all the salt of a normal meal but less than four hundred calories. This makes it something you shouldn't eat on it's own being less than a full meal.

It has more than forty percent of your salt intake for the day so you can basically eat nothing but fruits and vegetables with this meal, but go on with your bad self.

I they had filled all the extra space in this tray with green stuff it would have been a halfway passable meal. As it is, I would say it wont kill you if you don't eat it too often.

Tastes okay.

Boston Market Hot Honey Fried Chicken

Boston Market Home Style Meals tend to be on the not great side. They’re small and look nothing like what the box shows you. This Hot Honey Fried Chicken is no exception with the chicken being mostly breading and not even filling the space in the tray.

Had I not gotten this at a very good price I would be angry but maybe that’s why I got this at the good price.

The pasta wasn’t bad. It has a little spice to it but no heat to speak of. I didn’t need water when I ate this and in fact was drinking hot coffee.

All in all, it’s food and nothing more.

Boston Market Chicken Bacon Ranch

In the world of Boston Market and their home style meals Chicken Bacon Ranch isn’t very good for you. It takes a group of things that belong on salad and freezes them. I would have thought the ranch would have been dominant in this flavor mix but it isn't, and the bacon is almost lost.

As another point, that is some of the worst bacon I’ve had. It’s just the bits of gristle that is left over in some industrial process made to look like bacon.

I still found this to be edible but underwhelming.

Boston Market Country Fried Beef Steak

As you can tell Boston Market Country Fried Beef Steak looks nothing like the box. It mostly looks like a lump of mashed potatoes. the white grave just blends in.

These things are a bad idea as the country fried batter just turns into mush when frozen. The execution is not much better with beef being a thing cut of beef skirt that is so old and stringy you would think it came from a milk cow.

I mean, this is edible and I would be fine with having a few more in my freezer but I wouldn't, buy them at full price.
