Lantana Black Bean Hummus

Lantana Foods Black Bean Hummus tastes a little like a southwest salad at Jack in the Box. Once you eat the flavor in the middle that kind of falls away and you don’t have all that much more flavor than normal hummus. However, I can say that it was not hard for me to finish off both packages of this product.

I will grant that you really don’t want to go carrots with this because it needs more body to make carrots work but tortilla chips make this some really good hummus. I could have used some whole black beans and corn to give this texture and flavor but it’s worth buying again.

White Castle Black Bean Sliders

White Castle Black Bean Sliders are the best sliders I've ever had from White Castle. I don't know why, but these cook up better and are more filling than the meat varieties.

I like to cook just the patties for a minute in the microwave before adding the buns and cooking for another minute.

Good stuff, will buy again.

Tucson Tamale Black Bean, Corn & Cheese Tamales

Tucson Tamale Black Bean, Corn & Cheese Tamales fall apart when you unwrap them. They taste all right but not great and in general will just fall short of being what you want.

I'll say that these are good enough to get your guts moving so you'll have an easy time in the can after eating them. All in all, not really worth getting but filling.

Explore Cuisine Organic Black Bean Spaghetti

Explore Cuisine Organic Black Bean Spaghetti is loaded with potassium, fiber, and protein. Oddly, it has a great texture for black bean pasta and is basically as good or better than normal pasta.

I should get more of this stuff.

Trader Joe's Organic Black Bean Rotini

Trader Joe's Organic 'Black Bean Rotini' is another attempt to make a better noodle and again they simply fall short of the normal or whole wheat noodle.

Flavor wise they have a distinct taste that is stronger than normal noodles, lends itself to the savory, and reminds of black bean soup. Don't expect to put leftovers of this in the refrigerator and have them be the same the next day. Further it needs to be noted that these noodles will disintegrate in the water if cooked too long so to eat them you need to be the kind of person who keeps and eye on there food.
Now, if you look at the nutritional facts you will find that these noodles are loaded with protein and fiber. They are great for those looking to gain muscle mass or lose weight. I can't say I fell in love with these noodles but my brother can't get enough of them.

You have to ask yourself if the extra effort is worth the health benefits? These are better for you but harder to cook with.
