Jack in the Box Grilled Chicken Teriyaki Protein Bowl

Grilled Chicken teriyaki Bowls were a thing at one point and I had them in the freezer back then. Add the protean bit, because you can, and you have the Jack in the Box version that tastes about as good as the ones I got frozen. Like the ones I got frozen they need more vegetables and could be a lot better if made fresh. 

If you really want to eat healthy the salads at Jack are still a better option. These are better than a burger but not by far. 

 

Lemonade Apples

 Lemonade Apples would be hard to find this time of year. They only hit stores in fall to late winter and I got these at Trader Joe’s. With a name like Lemonade I would have thought these were a lot more lemon tasting but I have no idea how you would apple that in the first place. 
This is a small apple very much like the golden delicious, but stronger in flavor and just a hair more tart. It’s an apple and apples mostly taste like apples. This is just a fancy apple. 

The Jack in the Box Supreme Croissant

The Jack in the Box Supreme Croissant isn’t very supreme. The whole thing is a bit small and slim really. I can’t say I disliked them but like most breakfast sandwiches I found it to be small and lack luster. It could use some pepper of something.

I wouldn’t turn my nose up at one of these but I wouldn’t get another one if there were other options.

Langers Cranberry Ginger with Zinc

Langers Cranberry Ginger with Zinc didn’t have much ginger to it. I felt it was low on flavor, but it didn’t really go far to be something good. The bottle was old and so it may have lost its ginger but it really didn’t have a flavor that made me want to come back.

Arizona Hard Mucho Mango Cowboy Cocktail

Cowboy Cocktail sounds like something that has bull stuff in it. Not the bull stuff you find under a bull but rather the bull stuff that the bull puts in a cow to make little baby cows. Someone would drink that but I would draw the line there.

Anyway, this Mucho Mango Hard Arizona isn’t making me feel any less like giving the last of these to my LGBTQ+ friends and not wanting to think of what they may add to the fun. 

Anyway, it’s not so mango as to be mucho but it is mango enough to be called mango. The 5% alcohol really hits like a gnat and the overall experience is one of wanting and poor quality. 

I wouldn’t get this again.  

 

Alfaro's Bakery Sausage Rolls

“Hey, boss, someone spilled flour on these hot dog buns. What should I do?”

 

“No problem, Lenny, just mark them sausage rolls and send them out. We can charge more for um that way.”

 

That’s what I think of these Alfaro's Bakery Sausage Rolls. In honesty I didn’t have them with sausage but I would note that they are lighter than most hot dog buns but wouldn’t hold up well to a real sausage.

 

These are fine, but you need to know that you’re going to use them before you buy them. They aren’t that versatile.

 

Carl's Jr. Cali XL

The Cali XL at Carl's Jr. is the closest thing you can get to an In N' Out double double. It is larger than the double double but of lower quality ingredients featuring softer meat and a bun that disintegrates as you eat.

Is it bad? No, it's a solid offering from Carl's but the food grade plastic in the bun does put me off some.

I wouldn't get this again myself. I mean, I liked the flavor, but the fact is that it's low quality and bad for me.
 

Carl's Jr. Mocha Iced Coffee

 The Ice Coffee at Carl's Jr. costs too much and is too watery. For the money you could get something blended. This Mocha Ice Coffee was okay if it were the same price as a soda but it was more so I would have to say it's just not worth it.

Fail! 

McDonald's Hot Honey McCrispy

 The McDonald's Hot Honey McCrispy has shredded lettuce, crispy jalapeno, and the hot honey sauce on a potato bun with the clown's signature McCrispy chicken patty. I have to say that I have always liked the McCrispy,  but I rarely get it for no particular reason.

My big gripe with this sandwich is that you get a lot of stuff falling off and that makes for a mess. It is a mess you can eat if you like shredded iceberg lettuce and crispy jalapeno.  

I'd say this is fine, good for a change of pace, but not a major improvement to the existing food. 
 

Arizona Hard Watermelon Fruit Cocktail

Arizona Hard Watermelon Fruit Cocktail is about as watermelon as a red flag. I would call it sweet and refreshing but no in any major way. I'd only reach for this on a hot day.

At 5% alcohol it's hardly alcoholic and it just tastes okay. Beer for Millennials, sad, weak, and bad for you.  
 

Bum Energy Cola

Bum Energy Cola gives me Crystal Clear Diet Pepsi vibes. It’s a clear diet soda that has ten calories and a good amount of caffeine to give you that kick that you’re looking for.

As a beverage, Bum tends to deliver a quality experience, but as an energy drink it’s just not a substitute for one of the B vitamin type.  

I admit that I love this stuff. I want to try every flavor of Bum, but I’m still not giving up the monster. 

 

Hormel Hot Chili with Beans

Hormel Hot Chili with Beans had more heat than Hormel has on it's own but if you like your chili hot this just didn't have the heat I would have expected. It didn't clear my nose. 

Wasn't bad but wasn't impressive. 
 

McDonald's Bacon, Egg & Cheese Biscuit

McDonald's Bacon, Egg & Cheese Biscuit is not the kind of thing you wan to eat in your car on the way to work. Dry and crumbly, this will leave crumbs on your seats.

Was it good? Yes. Was it better than a McMuffin? I really wouldn't say so. I think the sausage is better than the bacon, but if you are more of a bacon lover this is the better option. 
 

Winchell's Pan de Elote

 I think this stuff is Winchell's Pan de Elote but at my local Winchell's there is little English to be spoken. In any case. This is my go too for a quick bite at one in the morning when a supervisor drags there sorry tail to my work. 

I love this stuff. Sweet and moist. I will eat this again and again and again because I'm fat and it's there.  

So Good So You Energy Shots Passionfruit

So Good So You Energy Shots Passionfruit is some hippy thing with a short shelf life and a sharp taste. It has to be refrigerated. I don't even think it has much flavor but what it has is sharp.

I don't think I'd get this again but it's not bad.  
 

Carl's Jr. Double Breakfast Burger

How do you make a burger more American? Have it invade another country for its oil, I mean, make it bigger.The Carl's Jr. Double Breakfast Burger is just like the normal breakfast burger only with more meat like substance. 

The food grade plastic in the bun makes it disintegrate as you eat but the burger isn't going to last long. 

Is this better that the single? I would say that it is bigger and more filling. I think it has less flavor per ounce  but bigger is often what Americans want.  
 

C4 Energy Ultimate Orange Cream

C4 Energy Ultimate Orange Cream is a solid orange flavor for being an energy drink. I would have loved to have one with a devil's food vodka. 

I never got the idea of orange cream to start with and if you're looking for an orange Julius in a can this will fall kind of short. Still, I found this pleasant, refreshing, and good enough to drink.
 

Winchell’s I Heart You Red Doughnut

Over at Winchell’s you get this relationship ending crap doughnut heart with red frosting and ‘I heart you’ on it. It tasted oddly of cherry and the doughnut part tasted like normal bread and was a bit stale. I wouldn’t give it to a person you love because it’s bad and bad for you.

 

Raising Cane’s Cane Sauce

I was never a fan of sauce in general until I started this blog and now I’m trying sauce from all over. Cane Sauce is a mayonnaise base so I shy away from it and often wouldn’t eat it by choice. The dominant flavor is creamy and the pepper is a stand out but the sauce is on the milder side and just something to wet dry chicken. 

You never get dry chicken at Cane’s because they never do cook it enough but that’s a conversation for another day. 

McDonald’s Bacon Hot Honey McCrispy

Coming with so much lettuce that it looks like a small salad in the  box when you’re done and enough crispy jalapenos to make that salad almost worth eating the Bacon Hot Honey McCrispy is okay. I would have like more chicken and the thing was getting everywhere but flavor wise it was good enough. I would have eaten another if I had one and I wish I had another one right now.

Anyway, this was fine but not something you should eat in your car less you like a mess. 

 

Carl’s Jr. Vanilla Ice Coffee

 Ice is not a word you use now days without getting into a long conversation about politics. I don’t like the fact that ICE deported my gardener. He was gone a whole two weeks. 

Anyway, this Vanilla Ice Coffee from Carl’s Jr. is a lot better than the ICE that gave my gardener a hard time but I found it to be watery and lacking in flavor. I didn’t dislike it at all but I didn’t like it either. Needed more flavor to go with the water. 

McDonald’s Changeables Fergon

 McDonald’s has their own transformers line called Changeables and Fergon was the one that came in my Happy Meal. I’m not sure I like Fergon. In addition to sounding like some kind of hair remover for raccoons the transformation isn’t much and I can see this thing being much other than a display piece. 

I’ll grant you that when I was a kid I played with sticks so I guess. I mean, this is okay but it just doesn’t look like a lot of fun to me. 

Glico Pocky's Chocolate Cream Filled Biscuit Sticks

Glico Pocky's Chocolate Cream Filled Biscuit Sticks are Japanese cookies that are on the interesting side of things. Interesting is always good when it comes to food so if you come across them they are a good thing to try. 

I can't say you should go looking for them, but they are good.
 

Aldi's Football Shaped Pizza

 For the big game Aldi’s has you covered with this Football Shaped Pizza. It’s the kind of pizza that comes out over done and would be better made from scratch but then when isn’t that true.

All in all, these are more fun to see than they are to eat and I wouldn’t go eating them because they don’t have enough cheese and the toppings are just not that great.

Set one of these out on your table this football day and have a dip to go with it.

Everyone will have fun but they will like the dip better than the pizza.

 

McDonald's Hot Honey Sausage Egg Biscuit

 Disappointment on a bun, the McDonald's Hot Honey Sausage Egg Biscuit is just kind of there. It has flavors that mix poorly and aren't strong enough to stand as a real improvement. The clown's sausage has always been a little too soft and needed more spice, but adding the hot honey just makes it taste funny.

There is a feeling of standing heat that grows as you eat and stays with you, but unless that flavor is what you're looking for this will disappoint. 

Fail.  

Nissin Fire Wok Screamin Beef

 Nissin Fire Wok Screamin Beef is that kind of pot noodle where you don’t keep the broth. You lose most of the broth so that you can spread the powder over it and it can have more flavor.

I’m not the biggest fan of noodles without broth and the way I cook noodles, as you can see, hides them under vegetables.

That said, these are a little disappointing in the flavor department, and I wouldn’t call them hot. I don’t really like spicy food. Still, I would have expected these to have more kick than they did.

Johnsonville Turkey Polish Kielbasa

Can you make Kielbasa out of Turkey? Is it right to call Kielbasa Polish? I mean, is there not polish Kielbasa?

 

These are the questions I ask myself as I eat this Johnsonville Turkey Polish Kielbasa. I would say it has less oil and flavor than normal Kielbasa but then what does not Polish Kielbasa taste like?

 

Anyway, this stuff is okay but it’s hard to get it to heat up evenly and so may need more oil than other sausage. Otherwise, I would get it again.
