Panera Bread Steak & Egg on Everything Bagel

With five hundred and fifty Calories and enough salt to stun a yak this is hardly a breakfast favorite as promised.

It kind of looks like the picture on the menu so give it a plus for that I guess.

Snickers Rockin’ Nut Road

Every Snickers I have ever had was better than this one. I did get this at a dollar store for like three for a dollar or something like that, but I want my money back. My brother couldn’t keep his hands off um even after he tasted them. I can’t imagine why. It could have something to do with my high blood sugar, but these are just not for me.

Panera Bread Kettle Cooked Potato Chips

For those of you who are pretending to be healthy or get dragged to Panera Bread by your brother there are these things.

They do okay as a better option that potato chips but fail miserably when compared to an apple which is the other Panera offering.

Commit to the better you and eat the apple.

Panera Bread Chocolate Chip Cookie

It’s a cookie, it looks dropped from a machine, it tastes okay. I’d go for something else unless you are in love with this kind of cookie. Then I didn’t order it so I have no idea why it came on the plate.

Panera Bread Classic Grilled Cheese

It looks nothing like the picture they advertise and runs a bit under six hundred Calories. I feel total indifference towards this sandwich and the false advertising makes me angry.

I’d give it a pass if for no reason than it just isn’t as good as what you’d make at home.

Ruffles Cheddar and Sour Cream Potato Chips

They were okay going down and left a vaguely cheesy foot flavor in my mouth for two hours. Stay away unless you have a toothbrush. Bla!

Snickers

Ah, Snickers Bar, you’ve been around since 1930 and are named after a horse. I think there is about ten pounds of me made of you.

Well, classic candies that will make you look like a blimp. I love them and still gave my stash of these to my brother after taking this picture.

Snickers you kill me so good!

Stacker 2 Extreme Energy Enraged Raspberry

So you take one look at Stacker 2 Extreme Energy Enraged Raspberry and think ‘why is this crap blue?’ Drinking the stuff clarifies in no way.

Well, the flavor is much better than the one I reviewed last month which was kind of like old pez. I guess they would be better with a splash of vodka, but I’m not doing that to the old heart.

Looking at the bright side at least it’s harder to get addicted to something that just isn’t that great. This stuff will get the job done if you’re not into energy drinks and don’t want to be interested in energy drinks.

Outback Steak House Bread

This stuff was really good. I mean for bread at least. I love that fact that they killed it with that big knife before bringing it to my table. I think I got three of these before the meal was over. There must have been some kind of bread war going on back there and they were bringing use their kills like a cat brings you dead mice.

Outback Steak House Bloomin Onion

You don’t go to Outback with my brother without getting one of these things. I like the outer edge, but as you eat your way in the onion gets kind of mushy. The batter is thin so you aren’t eating a big onion ring. I would give this a pass unless I’m with my brother.

Outback Steak House Baby Back Ribs

I walked into Outback that day with only one thing on my mind, Giving my good old dog a proper send off in his last week of life. For that I needed rib bones because old Gus could crush them in his teeth like they were baked Lay’s.

As ribs go these were ribs. Messy, get stuck in your teeth, fall apart ribs.  The only thing I can say is they needed to give you bigger napkins but then this is a steak house and they only sell ribs because everyone does.

Outback Steak House Black Cherry Soda

Okay, this was good. I mean, I don’t even know if they come with refills, but this was good. I couldn’t find it on the menu and they didn’t have what I was looking for that was on the menu. I only ordered this to try something new. Then I was just at Outback to get rib bones for my dog before I had to put him down.

I miss my dog and would order this again assuming they still have the stuff.

Outback Steak House Sundae

Well, technically it’s not a Sundae as it’s not in a glass. I can put chocolate, whipped cream, and a cherry on ice-cream at home why the hell would I buy this crap? Oh, and it’s not on the official menu. WTF!

Panera Bread Ham & Swiss baked Egg Soufflé

Four hundred and ninety calories of over salted breakfast. Panera Bread has no idea what a soufflé is and I can’t forgive them for this as the food isn’t all that great. I found it on the bland side and lacking the delicate fluffiness of a soufflé.

Another point is that they are ready when you order because they’re not that fresh. They keep those things on a hot plate in front. Worst of all the photographs of these are very misleading. They look enormous but are tiny little things.

I’d give these a pass. They’re not that great.

Tortitos

I got this little bag of ships in a variety pack. Now forgive me if I’m wrong here but tortilla chips are meant to be eaten with something on them. These have nothing on them and if you didn’t realize you’d be headed for a real disappointment.

Screw you, Frito Lay, and your little bag of chips. I’m working on cutting your products out of my life. Just as soon as I review them all.

Lay’s Salt and Vinegar Potato Chips

How can potato chips be salt flavored? I mean, come on Lay’s. These are just vinegar flavored. You’re just trying to sound cool. In any case, you can really taste the vinegar so if you like vinegar these are a plus over normal Lay’s Classic.

Then, if you don’t like vinegar these are Lay’s you can stop eating.

Subway Stake and Egg Breakfast Sandwich

I honestly couldn’t find this on Subway’s website so I can only tell you its worse for you than the egg-white version. A foot long will run you almost nine hundred Calories so long as you don’t get any extras. To put it mildly this blows the flaming stool out of a Carl’s Jr. Bacon Double Cheeseburger.  The Subway is way more filling than the Carl’s for around the same Calories.

I should put it that I was fasting for labs before eating this monster and it filled me up and I’ve been craving it for weeks since.  Tastes great but eat in moderation.

Equal Exchange Organic Mighty Morning Coffee

It’s got just a hair more kick than most Equal Exchange Coffee, but I’m not calling it great. In the world of finding a coffee that works for you this stuff is just about normal. Give it a try and see if it works but don’t bother if you already have a brew you love.

Nestlé’s Crunch

This second stringer in the world of candy bars is the kind of thing I don’t mind having sit around after a holiday. This is because I can say no to them. So, on the one hand you’re still slowly killing yourself with candy and on the other you’re killing yourself just a hair slower. You make the call.

First Street Mozzarella Cheese

It’s cheese, not great cheese so far as cheese goes, but then what is really great cheese. I tend to use this stuff sparingly, not that you can tell from the picture, because it will kill you. It has 4 grams of saturated fat per oz. and 200 mgs of salt. Then again, doesn’t most cheese?

First Street Yellow Mustered

I ran into this stuff and figured as it had less salt than other mustered I would give it a try. It’s mustered. I mean, I can taste it when I put it on bread and all. I like the bottle.

This is a good buy, but how much do you think about yellow mustard?

Grüne Fee Classic Absinth

Having never tried Absinthe before, it's Absinth on the label but I believe Absinthe is the American spelling, I have nothing with which to compare Grüne Fee.

I don’t like the color which is made with food dye rather than the natural of the beverage. I mean, it looks fake and that bothers me.

The flavor is slightly unpleasant so I wouldn’t drink it strait. This Absinthe does poorly with both ginger ale, and orange soda, but does very well with apple soda.

Absinthe is strong so drink responsibly.

This is not going on the buy list, but I may change my mind once I see what other Absinthe is like.

First Fruits Opel Apple

The Opel is relatively new to the apple scene being first cultivated in 1999.  It’s what you get when a Golden Delicious and a Topaz apple boogie. I find them harder than a Golden Delicious with a sweet flavor and mild crunch.

As apples go this one is very good.

Peanut Butter M&M’s

If M&M’s ate Reese’s Pieces then you get these things. I can’t say they’re all that as you hardly see any of them in stores.

I tried them because someone donated them to my work, and I was offered a few. I recommend eating them if they are free and you haven’t had them yet but wouldn’t call them as good as the other two classic varieties.

Earthbound Farms Organic Kale

See, not everything I eat is bad for me. I use this kale as greens for my sandwiches, greens for my smoothies, and for salads. I can say it lasts longer than most salad, need a bit more additives, and is not a tough as other Kales I’ve eaten.

It’s still like showing down on your lawn, but that’s health food for you.

First Street Individual Pepperoni Pizza

Forget about the cooking time on the box. These things take forever to get crispy. After that the cheese is real, not much of it, and the crust is thick. I have to say I liked them but not so much as to recommend these death discs. Better than most but not wonderful.

Sunday, January 4, 2015

First Street Bakery Garlic Bread

Got to loaves of this crap and neither were properly split in half. The garlic was in big slugs rather than properly sliced and after I cooked it the stuff just tasted like toast. Forget this stuff it’s not worth the Calories.

Basin Gold Potato

In the world of potatoes these things are king or at very least the largest potatoes I have ever come across. They store well and, um, they taste like potatoes which is what you’d expect.

The only complaint I can make, other than cooking time, is that if you buy these you better really like potatoes. I mean, that is a lot of spud. I boil potatoes myself, shut up I’m Irish, and these take about an hour. Then I pick them up with tongs and make them explode into the frying pan where I have conveniently placed sausage and mushrooms.

Oroweat 12 Grain Bread

You know how they say some folks don’t like crust? Eating this stuff I can see why. The bread’s crust has a dry texture that I don’t care for at all. Frankly, I’m a lot less interested in my sandwiches making them with this stuff. It’s not good, it’s not bad, it just is.

Equal Exchange Organic Bird of Paradise Coffee

I heard about this coffee and had to try it, because trying this coffee meant helping the environment. For those of you who haven’t been watching the news, the environment is that thing we humans are killing that we can’t live without.

So, this coffee is grown on the border of a national park in Mexico by aboriginal Mexicans in a way that helps them to live traditionally. It, like all Equal Exchange coffee, comes with the guaranty that the environment is not encroached upon in coffee production.

Like the coffee I reviewed last month you kind of need to get it in beans. I don’t think they sell it in ground form, but, to be honest, I had to twist some arms to get a case of this stuff.

It’s coffee for those who need a kick to get them out of bed but not for those who love coffee. The flavor is on the mild side and it tends to taste of whatever you put in the cup.
