The Grilled Chicken Breast Dinner at Pioneer Cafe in Glendale is one of those things that are just kind of a thing. It's a good amount of chicken, the vegetables are bland, an the potatoes are an option.
All and all, not bad but not the best thing on the menu.
At the Pioneer Cafe in Glendale this is the 'Scoop of Cottage Cheese & Fruit'. This is salad for the people who don't like salad. This is a great healthy snack that will put some nutrients in your system. It's great for those of you waking up with a hangover. Trust me, people are showing up to this place with a hangover. I mean, not me because I'm working but some people.
AriZona Extra Strength Green Tea Energy Shot tastes like condensed green tea. I know this because I put it in something and it made the whole thing taste like green tea. It works okay. I mean, I really can't imagine someone saying "You know what would be good right now? An AriZona Green Tea Energy Shot," but I can see someone reaching for this after a hangover and getting to work.
Kellogg's Frosted Mini Wheats Pumpkin Spice are one of the countless products designed to capitalize on the pumpkin spice explosion of the fall. They have a very mild flavor and almost no pumpkin spice was used in the making of these wheats. I meh at you Kellogg's Frosted Mini Wheats Pumpkin Spice, I meh at you.
Minta Original is one of those odd flavored sodas that came up at the discount market. I have to say this is a bizarre drink to make a soda taste like but trust me it's good. Mint is so nice a flavor and this soda makes me feel oddly at peace every time I drink some.
I wish I had gotten more of this stuff to be honest.
Sorbet is kind of like ice cream only it's not made with milk as apposed to Sherbet which apparently has some milk fat. Sorbabes Gourmet Sorbet Raspberry is a tart dessert with dark chocolate flakes making it more of the kind of thing that dark wine drinkers would like.
Me, I wouldn't really get this again, but it's not bad.
Rockstar Punched Fruit Punch is the closest to flat out candy that I feel I've had in an Energy Drink. That's hard to pull off given that soda is just about liquid candy and energy drinks are closely related to soda. Does it work any better than monster? No, if anything it gave me bad withdrawal and by withdrawal I mean that I was falling asleep without another one even at six in the after noon.
That could be because of Rockstar or it could be that I've had too many energy drinks but Rockstar has a lot of sugar. It has more sugar than Monster I think.
Fall is in the air...well, it's California so no it's not but we'll pretend, and at the Pioneer Cafe in Glendale you may just want a slice of Pumpkin Pie. Well, this pumpkin pie is creamy not spicy and all around nice.
As for me, I'd rather it have a stronger flavor, but creamy works for most folks.
Turkey Hill sounds like a place in Washington DC. Oddly, they make a really good ice cream. This Pumpkin Pie has pie crust and a nice buttery flavor that really reminds you of pie. Sadly, it could use more of the pumpkin part. I mean, didn't taste much like pumpkin pie. I would have like more spice as well.
All and all, good ice cream. Worth trying.
If a regular sized El Monterey Bean and Cheese Burrito wasn't boring enough for you they now come in XXL so that you can be properly bored out of your mind. These don't have much in the way of cheese and they beans are lightly flavored.
I have to ask myself if this was some kind of Mexican prison food that someone had to try to sell because they lost a bet. Then I remember that there are poor people in this world and they probably have to eat these things. This burrito is depressing!
One of the great things about Hungry Howie's is that you can order your pizza in three levels of cooking dependent on what you want. This is the regular level of cooking so it did taste regular. I can't say I loved it, and I can't say I hated it. I just like to know I have that option.
Bundaberg Ginger Beer is almost like drinking a ginger root. Stuff has a flavor so strong that I tried diluting it with tea which worked fine. This is not the ginger ale that you get in stores to make you feel better. This is a powerful drink with a flavor that will snap you right out of a stupor. They should make energy drinks out of this stuff.
Hungry Howie's dipping Pizza Sauce is useful for sliming the over salty bread so that the salt doesn't knock you out right away. Is it good? Hmmm...it's American. By that I mean that it has all the not flavor of an American sauce designed to be functional but not great. Hungry Howie's website describes the sauce as 'zesty' which it is in no way.
I don't need any more reasons to be ashamed to be American and I want to write these folks an angry letter about their food!
If you've ever wanted to commit suicide by salt then Hungry Howie's Howie Bread is a great idea. Yes it is topped with herbs and they use hand made dough but the salt in this gave me a stomach ache.
Feed this to the people you want to keep away from your pizza.
Over at the Pioneer Cafe in Glendale a simple lunch is this A.B.T.C. a relative of the B.L.T. I think. What we have is Avocado, Bacon, Tomato, Cheese, and lettuce all on toasted bread. You hardly notice the tomato.
As sandwiches go this is a good one. I'm not sure it's worth going to a restaurant to eat, but then again, I'm not sure you're saving all that much making this at home. If you have this with a salad you're likely not as fat as me.
At the Pioneer Cafe in Glendale you can get yourself a plate of Spaghetti. That is not truly red gravy on there but it's, well, okay. It needs more meat to be red gravy. I mean, I can't say I'd order this again but it's food and unoffensive. Who orders spaghetti to start with? I mean, it's so easy to make.
Crystal Pepsi is one of those things from my child hood that I always wanted to try with vodka. I am, as I write this, drinking it with vodka and I like it, but it's not worth the price. The vodka disappears in this lightly flavored soda.
Look, I got some of this and people I knew seeing that I had it had to go and get some of their own. Crystal Pepsi is a thing of the past that came back and if you want it to stay around you need to pope off to the store and get some. It goes well with vodka.
Wicked Kitchen Hand Pie Spinach and Artichoke are a vegetarian snack with a few bits that are wholly inedible. That's what you get when you cook with Artichokes.
I tend to eat these with a fork but the crust is nice and flaky and the stuff inside is kind of gooey. Not bad.
Bee Sweet Cara Cara Pink Navel Oranges are the kind of orange you eat when you want to be posh. Do they taste any different. Not that I can tell. I will say that they don't burn the edges of my mouth when I eat them. That was a thing when I was a kid. Not sure if it's still a thing now.
Anyway, these are good for you so eat them you fat American pig, I say to myself.
So Monster Juice is a form of none carbonated Monster, and it sounds like the name of a Halloween themed porn flick. I could be wrong about that one, but it sounded funny in my head.
In any case, Mango Loco isn't very loco. I mean, I'm not sure what a loco should taste like, but I'm sure it's not papaya and that's more what I'm tasting. Stick to the fizzy Monster.
At the Pioneer Cafe in Glendale this is the Chicken Parmesan. Well, I mean, that's what it is. I have to point out that it's a little bland. Then again, I've never seen a Chicken Parmesan that wowed me.
Jack Black's Scarecrowberry Soda is strawberry. It's good strawberry with real sugar but it's still strawberry. I will admit that this stuff is great with vodka but I don't know if it's worth the price. If this were as much as normal soda I would be buying a case. It's more than a buck a bottle.
For that kind of money it should come with vodka.
Ubite Wild Pacific Salmon Cat Treats are so bad that not even the feral cats on my street would eat them. The Opossums did like them. Total fail.
'Campbell's Chunky Maxx Smoked Turkey & Bacon Corn Chowder' is the kind of product that's name is so long it's hard to review.
Anyway, this stuff is all kinds of okay, not great, but okay. The bacon is hardly noticeable and the corn chowder part is almost lost. This stuff is basically salty turkey soup. It tastes good but you'll get hungrier because of all that salt.
At the Pioneer Cafe in Glendale Chicken Primavera is not on the menu. This was a recommendation from the waitress. In any case, this is everything I would expect from American Primavera. It could use some pepper.
Otherwise, it's a filling dish at a reasonable price.
Minta is a classy soda that uses real sugar to make it soft drink and their Strawberry flavor is something I've never tasted before. If you were having a party and wanted people to talk about it for years this would be a great soda to pull out. It tastes like mint which is really odd.
Would I drink this every day? No, but it's one of those things that I feel better for having tried. Also, it calms me down. Really good stuff.
Fiber One calls itself health food wile making some of the best pastries to have with coffee that I run into at the store. These Salted Caramel Cheesecakes are a hundred and fifty calories of perfect coffee dipping goodness.
Wanting coffee these are on the dry side, but oh so good.
Over at Anna's Pizza in West Covina California the sausage sub is a big sandwich. Compared to the pizza this is unremarkable with the sauce being on the bland side.
One would have to point out that Anna's Pizza is a pizza place and their pizza totally rocks. That said, you can't get something this good at Subway. Still, thing dripped on my shirt twice.
Anna's Pizza in West Covina has one size of fries. These fries are enough to feed one person. Are they really great? No. They are serviceable french fries. Get these if you have a lot of people to feed and want something other then pizza.
Over at Anna's Pizza in West Covina California you can get this eight inch wonder. I found this to have a strong flavor of garlic and butter. This was totally one of the best pizzas I've ever had.
